Because I am obsessed with views, Cafe’ Mosaico was one of the places I really wanted to visit and it was no mistake. I have to say I risked it to get there on foot. If you are going from the historical center and you want to cut through the small lanes, that is not a good idea at all.

With its terrace views, this café offers one of the best sunset experiences in the city. Whether you're there to sip a drink or enjoy a meal, it's advisable to reserve a table near the railing for the best views. Prices here are slightly higher, but the scenery makes it worthwhile.

Café Mosaico: take some height and climb on top of Parque Itchimbía to get to the Café Mosaico and enjoy some of the greatest views of Quito. Their in-house band will take you back to the last century with pop music from the 40s to the 90s.

Another place we tried was Café Mosaico, which had phenomenal views of the city from Parque Itchimbia. When it came to food, it was a disappointment. They offer some Greek dishes – none of which were prepared correctly.

My favorite restaurant there is Cafe Mosaico which has a great atmosphere and amazing food. Try some local specialties like cuy (guinea pig), seco de chivo (goat stew), or quinoa with shrimp.

The balcony of Café Mosaico, perched above the historic center, just steps away from the entrance to Itchimbía Park, is a cozy place to sit down and have a canelazo or a glass of wine.
