Reviews Summary

Shibumi Sushi Bar is highly praised for its exceptional quality sushi, fresh ingredients, and creative twists on traditional Japanese fare. Diners love the intimate atmosphere, personalized service, and the unique flavors incorporated using local Ecuadorian ingredients. While some find it pricier, the overall consensus is that the experience and taste are well worth the cost, making it a must-visit for sushi enthusiasts.

"A very good Japanese restaurant. The environment is also very beautiful, everything looks clean and sanitary. The food is very fresh, especially the salmon sashimi, which tastes like ice cream. Every food tastes great and is worth recommending."

Gabriel Lucas

"Very yummy sushi! I appreciate the more authentic sushi compared to other places we have tried in Quito. Very nice atmosphere and perfect date spot. We ordered the nigiri special and 3 different rolls. I do not eat meat other than fish and they accommodated the nigiri pieces for us so that mine would not have the carne or foie gras. The nigiri was so so good. Highly recommend the Shibumi roll as well. Definitely worth it for the price - coming from Miami, this quality and these prices are hard to top!"

Di N

"Amazing sushi! We found this on Quito’s top restaurant lists. We sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chef made us special rolls. Really delicious and totally worth it. Best meal here!"

Best Asian Restaurants in Quito

Although a little pricier than other dining establishments in Quito, Shibumi Sushi Bar is worth a visit if you’re craving some real-deal sushi. Arguably one of the best sushi joints in town, this small, understated restaurant uses only fresh produce and serves up traditional Japanese sashimi, nigiri and sushi rolls, as well as some innovative twists on Japanese fare that combine it with local Andean ingredients. The grouper rolls are a definite must-try and the kitchen is open plan so you can watch the chef in action as he prepares your sushi rolls and then get the lowdown in person when he comes over to personally serve it to you.
