What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Palmeraie is celebrated for its beautiful Nile views and enchanting atmosphere, creating a magical dining setting. Diners rave about the authentic and delicious Moroccan cuisine, with tagines and couscous being particular highlights. While many praise the friendly and attentive service, some patrons have experienced significant delays and poor service.
"The place is beautiful!! this is our first time and already planning of visiting here again.
The first thing to notice is the priviledged location; the unique view of the Nile river at night and the different and colorful ships cruising in the background is unique.
Then the staff, starting with the charming welcome of the manager Ahmad, and its attention to details, the chef made a delightful dessert for us and the shisha is the best shisha I ever tried and I've visited places like Georgia, Kazakhstan and Dubai so definitely raised my expectations from now.
Prices: more than competitive and you get a real value visiting here. The best place to have a really good time!!"

"I loved the place, the restaurant's location and view are fantastic, calm and upscale. We enjoyed the grills and Arabic appetizers. We ordered shisha with Moroccan tea at the end. The staff were nice and tried as much as they could to satisfy the customers. The prices were not cheap, but the place is worth it."

"The service is very bad!! The food comes late. Not in order, they you need to remind the waitress 6 times to respond to you.
If you don't want to ruin your dinner I don't recommend it at all."

7 Nile-Side Restaurants To Take Foreign Friends To Now That Sequoia’s Closed
While Sequoia was on the northernmost tip of Zamalek, the Sofitel Gezirah is on the southernmost tip -- which guarantees even better views, if you can believe it. Sofitel has several restaurants lining the Nile on its outdoor terrace -- Kebabgy (see below), Le Deck, Casa Mia and La Palmeraie. La Palmeraie crosses off all the boxes that Sequoia did -- fantastic view, alcohol, shisha and food.
