Reviews Summary
Zeeyara Restaurant is celebrated for its breathtaking rooftop views of Old Cairo and its upscale interpretation of traditional Egyptian cuisine. Diners love the authentic flavors, charming ambiance, and attentive service, often highlighting dishes like camel meatballs and unique desserts. However, some find the prices to be on the higher side for the area, and a few reviews mention inconsistencies in food quality.
"Quite pricey, but definitely a good place. Unfortunately the breakfast ends way too soon. We arrived a little after 11 and it was already over.
Anyway the food was really good. The place is on the roof, so there is a nice view over the streets."

"I loved this place. When we entered we were told it is fully booked although most tables were empty. When we were about to leave they kindly offered a table outside which is what we wanted. Entire night most tables outside were empty but may be this is normal in Egypt . Food was great and delicious. I had the minced meat and my wife had lamb with rice. Service was ok. Views were stunning and overall a pleasant experience"

"This restaurant is conveniently located near the famous bazaar and sits on the top floor of a hotel. While it promises a city view, you can only enjoy it during daylight hours. In the evening, the view is mostly limited to the rooftops of nearby restaurants.
The food is generally tasty, although dishes made with pigeon are an acquired taste. The pigeon soup has a rather strange smell, possibly due to the spices used. The duck pie was excellent, but the stuffed pigeon dish was disappointing – there was hardly any meat, just a lot of rice. However, the salad was enjoyable.
Since alcohol regulations are strict in this country, it was nice to see that the restaurant offers non-alcoholic beer, Birelli, which was refreshing. Overall, it’s a pleasant place, though the prices are noticeably above the market average."

Desserts are also delicious, and the mocktails are worth a try.

12 Best Restaurants In Cairo (An Honest Local's Guide!)
Zeeyara is a little hidden gem overlooking Cairo’s historic Moez Street that offers Egyptian cuisine on a rooftop overlooking the surrounding minarets. It’s my absolute favorite restaurant in Khan el Khalili, an area notorious for scammy and touristy cafes. Zeeyara serves up authentic Egyptian dishes on a charming rooftop (with indoor and outdoor seating) lined with wooden windows and photos of old-time Egyptian actors.
