What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Vintrépide offers a delightful dining experience with creative, seasonal dishes and an impressive wine list. While many praise the quality of the food and the cozy atmosphere, some reviews mention limited menu options and occasional issues with service or temperature.
"Food is very good. Beautifully presented and all unique flavours. It felt like a good bridge between traditional and modern French style food. The menu is a little limited but we went as a large group and got the set menu with 4 courses. It included an amuse bouche, starter, fish course, meat course and dessert, all of which were fantastic and very good portion sizes. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. My only negative is that the restaurant is quite quiet, no obvious music playing and it is very hot inside in the evening."
Francesca
"Really wanted to like this restaurant, but I don't think the food or wine were up to expectations on the occasion we visited. I asked for a medium-bodied red and was given a bold Bordeaux. Entrees were decent (one was a little undersalted), but mains just lacked polish. The bread did not live up expectations of a true French restaurant. Overall one of the weaker meals we've had in France."
Tash Shan
"Very interesting dishes, with a lot of flavor.
Also the wine card is worth enough to visit this restaurant"

Restaurants in Aix-en-Provence
At this sleek little wine bar, an understated decor belies splendid cuisine that easily stands up to some of Aix's more pricy gastronomic tables, but with much less fuss. In keeping with the wine bar ethos, plates are small (all the better to pair with wines by the glass) but beautifully conceived and sometimes thrilling—think foie gras with apricot confit, sea bream and wild mushrooms, or zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta and mint. Don't be shy to ask for advice on wine pairings; you'll be glad you did.
The Best Restaurants In Aix-en-Provence, France
With modern decor and an impressive wine cellar, this cosy little restaurant in a sleepy corner of the Old Town takes pride in matching excellent produce to a superior wine list. Chef William Aubert works with local producers to use pure-bred Bigorre pork, and Aubrac beef along with vegetables from Aix’s excellent market. It changes every two weeks, and Aubert ensures there are always two fish and two meat dishes on the menu.

Vintrépide is a small restaurant on the north-east edge of Old Town with less than 40 seats – get one if you can!. Though run by just two people, the chef and the host, this extraordinary dining experience goes forth without a hitch.
