Reviews Summary
le RIVA offers a warm welcome and generous portions of both traditional dishes and pizzas, often praised for their fresh, local ingredients. While many enjoy the friendly service and cozy atmosphere, some diners have encountered issues with food quality and customer service, particularly regarding specific dishes and policies.
"I suggest it 100%. They were very friendly and all the food was cooked when we ordered it."
Dimitrios Alexandris
"Went to Le Riva, expecting an Italian restaurant, which I found out it's not: with an Italian name, and a pretty much uniquely Italian menu, it's not Italian. Owners are French and the dishes (or at least the pizza I got and the dessert my neighboring table received) are french copies of what I am used to in Italy.
Which is fine normally. However, the pizza I ordered had a sandy taste to it - really crunchy, like when the salad topping (which was great) is not washed well. Looking further, I found out that on the bottom of the pizza there were flakes of something I can only describe as patches of sand. When showing this to the owner, she laughed it off and said it was the maïzena they use to slide the pizza in/out of the oven.
Apart from never having experienced this, eating 1000's of pizzas in my life (and having lived in Italy for 5+ years and worked in a pizzeria to earn my studies ...!), I've seldom been treated this way as a paying customer.
I will not come back. There are better choices in Aix-les-bains"
Marc Ivo Murris
"Very pathetic that with an empty place they do not accept dogs so we went next door and it was great! With good service"
Michel Huguenin
