Reviews Summary
Bar Le Tambourin is a charming Arlesian institution offering affordable drinks and decent food in a unique, bullfighting-themed setting. While many praise the friendly service and value, some diners have experienced minor issues with order accuracy and occasional staff stress during busy periods.
"Just a simple bar in the heart of Arles. Lots of locals and very affordable: two small beers (25 cl), one pastis and one glass of wine for €13. Bring cash, no card payment below €20."

"Well we had mixed feelings about the place. The food was ok, not very good not bad. The stuff was friendly in general and really tried their best even though you could feel their streas! Only one waitor (very young one so we guessed not experienced yet) was a bit unpolite. When i asked if they can put half rice half fries as a side dish for my main course instead of fries, so i can give the rice to my 3-year old child, the answer was -No madame, you have to choose.. So i said ok only rice then. Then they forgot my main dish for some time, but lets say that due the super busy lunch time this can happen. The atmosphere and the location was nice. I am not sure if i would go back again.."

"nice place for getting coffee, right next to the cafe van gogh, so there is very nice view on it from the table on the street. the negative thing was the limit of paying by card from 10 euros. but definitely would come back and get here another short coffee stay :)"

For a morning latte—or an afternoon pastis, if that's more your speed—head to this Arlesian institution run by former bullfighters. (Arles imported the Spanish sport back in the 18th century.) Old photographs of the city's celebrity matadors hang everywhere—even in the bathroom.
