Reviews Summary
Clos du Cèdre offers an exceptional dining experience in a historic and elegant setting, highlighted by creative, Michelin-starred cuisine and an impressive wine list. While most praise the impeccable service, beautiful ambiance, and outstanding food, a few diners noted minor issues with service pacing or felt the value wasn't entirely aligned with the price for certain aspects.
"Delicious meal in a gorgeous 19th century house, but a bit too fancy / less relaxed for my personal preference (this is on me not on them, I hadn’t realized when I booked). V high quality tho, accommodating for allergies, and the mangalitza pork was a standout dish of the trip"

"We had high expectations and felt like there is room for improvement here. Each course was nicely presented, but each had at least one “thing” that we left us a little disappointed. For example the tortellini was underdone (not al dente, just a little raw dough). The wine pairings were “ok”. The servers often set the dishes down at the wrong angle. Etc. And yes we are being picky, but at 500+ euros each for dinner plus pairings and extras, I feel like picky is appropriate. Just generally the value wasn’t there for the price."

"Nice experience overall and staying at the hotel made it very convenient. The service was brilliant from start to finish and we were looked after as soon as we entered. The food was beautifully presented, though it did not excite us - it was fine and sometimes tasty but never truly memorable. The wine pairings were also fine, but we did not receive much information about them beyond origin, possibly due to the language barrier as we do not speak French. There was little explanation about how the wines complemented the food or why they were chosen. For the price, I was hoping for more, but it was still a good visit."

Burgundy's Best Boutique Wine Hotels
Everything in this gorgeous manor house hotel is spot on – from the individually tailored rooms to the outstanding cooking of head chef Christophe Canati, who was appointed in 2012 and has since earned the restaurant its first Michelin Star. In keeping with today’s general luxury trend, service is engaging and friendly rather than stuffy. However, the atmosphere remains one of timeless elegance – the drawing room and gorgeous outdoor terrace lend Le Clos du Cedre a distinctly regal air.
Beaune: paradise for Burgundy wine lovers
The gourmet restaurant Clos du Cèdre, with its elegant panelling and shiny parquet floors, is located in a former wine-grower’s mansion next to the Hostellerie. Chef Jordan Billan was recently awarded a Michelin star in recognition of his innovative and fragrant cuisine, inspired and sourced from local Burgundian producers. As it was –2°C when I visited in December, we appreciated the beautifully classical – and warm – interior.
