Farm to table doesn’t get much more inviting than at Casa Gaïa, a light-filled dining room where the team serves up the best organic produce from the area. If you need a break from classic Bordeaux cuisine, light dishes such as toasted quinoa with pickles, grilled vegetables, and falafel, or ox-heart tomatoes with green salad, bonito rillettes and wood-fired vegetables, are a chance to cleanse your palate.

Located in a small street perpendicular to the quays, Casa Gaïa is a restaurant that offers modern cuisine, mainly made from seasonal, organic and local products. As well as being delicious, it’s a restaurant with a sustainable approach, which is something we particularly like at Vert Bordeaux. Several vegetarian options are available, which is not the case for all restaurants.

If you prefer to eat ethically, there’s plenty available in the organic and veggie sector, such as Casa Gaia and Les Vaillant, which aim to use short supply chains with local, organic ingredients. Bordeaux also boasts an exceptional gourmet vegetarian restaurant, Rest’O, and the largest organic restaurant in France, Le Magasin Général.

**To say this was one of the best meals we’ve ever had would not be an understatement. Highlighting products from the Gironde region, Casa Gaïa offered delicious food that was both simple and perfect. The kids in our group enjoyed the wood-fired pizza and colorful plates with falafel and roasted vegetables.

Nestled in a charming townhouse in central Bordeaux, Casa Gaïa feels like stepping into an eclectic global oasis. The relaxed decor incorporates artworks and eclectic trinkets from the owner’s worldwide travels. We sampled small plates and cocktails alongside live Latin music, enjoying the festive ambiance.

This is a restaurant which has succeeded in their noble challenge of concocting seasonal dishes made using organic products that are cooked in a wood oven and come straight from Gironde. The staff are friendly with kids and adults alike. Colouring books and crayons are available for children.
