The only thing is that one of the waiters who served us was a little confused: he brought us the wine/appetizer list first when he should have brought us the menu/card first. He didn't let us taste the wine and served it directly to us, filling the glasses too much. He seemed to be in a hurry to take note.

Budget permitting, there are several excellent restaurants inside the Cité, serving really good regional food. Among them are La Barbacane, Chez Saskia, Restaurant Comte Roger and the Brasserie le Donjon. These all serve divine food and the service is, as you would expect, impeccable.

We think they did not put our order through as the tables around us, who ordered after us, were served well before us!. However, once we were served it was all delicious and worth the wait. The cassoulet was very good indeed as was the bouquet of vegetables entrée with tapenade.
