"If you’re after tasty food, you’re in the right place.
I especially recommend trying their beef sausages — really flavorful!
One small note though: if you’re not good with spicy food, make sure to let them know in advance, or be cautious. If you spot a little red ball of something on top of your dish or salad… don’t just mix it in without thinking 😄 It might be way too spicy for you!
Also, their homemade lemonade isn’t your typical sweet-and-tangy kind — it has a slight bitterness, almost like lemon peel. So if I were you, I’d try a small size first to see if it matches your taste. It might not be for everyone."

"Small Tunisian restaurant. In Marseille standards, it’s very affordable. I ordered a menu of Ojja Natur, with chips and a drink, in total for 10.50€. The portion was very big, could only finish half. It was tasty but it had a particular spice inside I couldn’t identify and it was very strong. In any case, there are lots of dishes and it’d be good to try a few. Staff is very nice and service is fast."

Perhaps the best culinary representation of Marseille’s North African community can be found at the busy, boisterous, and brilliantly simple Chez Yassine. Sitting on an equally buzzy street in the multicultural Noailles neighbourhood, the restaurant pulls in a nearly constant crowd of locals, so you might have to wait a moment for a table. It’s worth it, though, for authentic Tunisian dishes such as leblebi, a chickpea soup spiced with cumin, garlic and homemade harissa; keftiji, a dish of vegetables and fried egg; or the spicy grilled merguez sausages, with nothing priced at more than €16.

While there have been rumblings – and graffiti – that Noailles became bobo-ified (bohemian-bourgeois are French hipsters), local institutions are benefiting from the growth. Perpetually packed temple of Tunisian food, Chez Yassine, just opened a second spot, Kouijna Express, dedicated to chapatti – a pita stuffed with meat, an herby omelet, peppers and harissa served on the street in their homeland. Chez Yassine started life as a family-run snack bar that served the large Tunisian population centered around the Noailles district, close to the port in Marseille. This restaurant is popular at all times of the day, but it comes alive during the evening, with both people eating in and young folk grabbing a take away to eat on the street.
