If you sit inside, you’ll be treated to exposed stone walls and pristine white tablecloths, and if you sit outdoors, you can gaze up at the magnificent Sainte Anne church. Michelin-starred Pastis is a simple but superb restaurant in the old city. I had lunch there on my first visit to Montpellier, in a very tasteful dining room that I would say is possibly the most beautiful beige space I’ve ever seen, the acceptable face of taupe. The menu here’s a surprise one (no swaps, unless you have allergies) but every one of the surprises was very pleasant indeed.
