Reviews Summary

Le Corps de Garde is celebrated for its breathtaking sea views from the ramparts and its generous, high-quality crepes and galettes. While many praise the delicious food and unique ambiance, some diners have experienced long waits and occasional issues with dish preparation or accuracy.

"We’re originally from Brittany and we all agreed this is THE best. Obviously great location with an ocean view. Not that expensive cause the view is amazing, staff is super kind, desserts are huuuge but most importantly all the ingredients are high quality unlike many other places. Of course gets super super super busy. So make sure to avoid rush hours!"

Carole A

"Such a cute restaurant, situated next to the ocean with stunning views. The food was excellent. You can choose from either sweet or savory crepes. We ordered 4 different crepes and our favorite was the ham and onion crepe. If you like the taste of onions from the French Onion Soup, then you need to order this one! The crepes were delicious! I highly recommend with or without kids!"

O Ts

"We went there on 8th of April as it was recommended as the best place to have crepes. We had to wait at least 15/20 minutes before someone came to take our order. After other 20/25 minutes our crepes arrived but one was wrong order so we had to wait again. Regarding the food, it was nothing special, we had better quality and taste in different places around. The cider was really good at least."

I mentioned the hotel Nouveau Monde, and its restaurant the 7 Mers is top notch, as, of course, are the views. The Amiral replaced the Extra Muros in the Gare Maritime de la Bourse, is fun and also has an interesting view of the harbour. The ex Extra Muros owner now has, amongst other establishments, the Extra Café in the Place de la Grande Hermine not far from the Mediathèque, and in the same building the takeaway Bar à Naan on the Boulevard des Talards.

1 Day In Saint Malo

Not really wanting this day to end, we headed back along the walls and settled in the tiny terrace of Le Corps de Garde. This creperie has fine seaside views but we came here for a pre-dinner round of cider, another local delight from Brittany. With only 2.5% alcohol, you really need to be careful not to chug this down too quickly – or maybe you should.

09/09/2024: The place is extraordinary of course but the cuisine is of the same level. We were very well received, calmly despite the large crowds, it's nice to have a waitress who is calm and efficient. The pancakes were truly delicious, we had a great time!!
