What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Angelina Paris offers a historically rich dining experience within the Palace of Versailles, famed for its exceptional hot chocolate and Mont Blanc pastry. While the ambiance and signature treats are highly praised, some visitors find the prices steep and the service inconsistent, with occasional complaints about the decor or overcrowding. Despite mixed reviews on value, many agree the unique location and iconic offerings make it a worthwhile stop.
"I have all good things to say about this gem. When you arrive, you’re asked dining in or dining out. We dined in and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious and plated so beautifully. The waitress was pleasant and we loved her personality. Prices were a bit high, but to be expected for such a nice venue at the Palace.
Highly recommend trying the hot chocolate drink and the Monte Blanc. Superb tastes."

"We end our day at Versailles by visiting Angelina Paris for some patisserie and drinks. To be honest, we didn’t like their drink that much but the patisseries satisfied us. It’s kind of healing us after the whole day of walking and visiting around.
The lady at reception was very kind. We didn’t book anything in advance, just drop by there and ask a table for 6 persons. We waited to queue for about 10 mins. It was quite hard for them to arrange but they did manage for us. Thanks to the staffs!
Overall experience was fine for us. As we mentioned earlier, the pâtisseries taste good (you can say because we are in France!). Beside the hot tea, we didn’t like their other drinks we ordered."

"Try the club sandwich. It’s crispy outside and the toppings, including the smashed egg, blend very well.
Hot chocolate is a must try. Very thick. Get the whipping creme. It’s creamy but not too sweet. Salmon was alright."

10 Exquisite Parisian Cafes, Let Them Eat Cake
Angelina was founded in 1903, and perhaps as famous for its hot chocolate as its patisserie. The décor has been maintained from when the salon first opened, and is typical of Belle-Époque extravagance, with a grace and style that mirrors its sweet creations. Understandably, Angelina has seen regulars such as Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn grace its doors, but more than providing glamour, salons such as this were also places where women could socialize outside the house without supervision, and thus played their own part in the women’s liberation movement.
Best Afternoon Tea in Paris
Whether you visit the galleries of the Louvre or the D’Orsay, you’re not far from one of Paris’s oldest and best-known tea salons, Angelina. Since 1903, it has hosted such luminaries as Marcel Proust and Coco Chanel in a regal setting. The interior is reminiscent of a gilded chocolate box, with its mirrored walls and gold piping, and the pale, lime green fabric lining all the shelves.

The Angelina terrace offers a sweet and savoury menu to take away or to enjoy on the spot: hot chocolate, pastries, salads, sandwiches, cold drinks and home-made ice creams. Located in the Petit Trianon and accessible without a ticket, the terrace is open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 12pm to 6:30pm in high season and from 12pm to 5.30pm in low season.
The best parks and gardens in Paris to drink a coffee and have lunch despite the Covid
Honestly, even if it means having a princess trip fully assumed in the spirit of Sofia Coppola , we obviously go through the little Angelina counter. which offers L'Africain , their cult hot chocolate covered in whipped cream or simply a Mont-Blanc . But there are also ice creams, cabbage and macaroons ...
Best Macarons in Paris
Better known for the hot chocolate, Angelina also has wonderful macarons!. With its elegant and simples décor, Angelina offers one of the best experiences of tearoom in town. As stopping there for hot chocolate is almost an obligation in any trip to Paris, I’ld say it’s also worth trying their macarons.
