Reviews Summary

Baraqa is celebrated for its authentic Georgian cuisine, particularly its Khachapuri and Khinkali, and offers a cozy atmosphere with pleasant views. While many praise the delicious food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff, some diners have experienced significant delays in service and order accuracy. The restaurant is a popular spot, often bustling with a mix of locals and tourists.

"We had a lunch here and ordered khinkali, salad with tomatoes and cucumbers, and chicken with vegetables. Everything was fresh and delicious. I also recommend a homemade lemonade, very tasty. I wouldn’t say that it’s expensive compared to other places."

"We arrived at 10pm to the store and we knew that it closes at 11pm. We ordered two dishes, waited for sometime and the one plate arrived so we started eating. The clock was ticking and at 22:40 the waiter came with the bill and said that we had to pay as the store is closing (20 minutes before closing time 23:00). We said that the one plate did not arrive yet and to remove it from the bill. After 1 minute, the plate arrived and the waiter said to us to take it take away. Of course we did not accept that and we said we do not want it now. This is not professional. We know that if you have clients that they will pay you, they can stay until they finish their dishes. So the plate came 15minutes before closing and they wanted us to finish it or take it with us. After all, we did not accept that and asked to remove it from the bill. They did so, but this is not professional. Overall the plate was not that tasty, it was okay. The last point is that they have old menu saying 10% service fees, however it is 12% actually."

"Food is good but nothing special in comparison with other places in Georgia.
We had eggplant with nuts, kebab, kebab with cheese and Georgian nuts salad. Everything was ok especially after long travel without food but nothing special or delicious.
Looking more like cheap pub after the changes they did. I was very ok with this restaurant in 2019, but not anymore. From nostalgia i am giving 4stars."

23 Best Restaurants in Kutaisi You Must Try

One of my favorite restaurants in Kutaisi, Baraqa is laid-back, it has a massive menu, and it’s family-friendly (every time I come here, they’re always silently screening cartoons on their TVs… which I love, cos I have the brain of a big fat baby). It’s one of those good-whatever-you’re-looking-for restaurants; a nice combo between not-too-fancy and not-too-casual. My favorite morsels here are the eggplant with walnuts (a massively-popular side dish in this part of the world), the Adjarian khachapuri (a big oval slab of bread topped with butter, cheese, and an egg), and any of the meaty stuff.
