Cafe Stamba is praised for its unique and stylish atmosphere, often described as a Wes Anderson-esque blend of retro and modern. Diners rave about the delicious and beautifully presented food, especially traditional Georgian dishes and tempting desserts. However, some visitors have experienced issues with slow or inattentive service and excessively loud music.
"This place is really cool! The decor is a perfect blend of 60s style with a modern twist, creating a super eclectic atmosphere. I had the pecan pie for dessert, and it was delicious. I paired it with a cold brew, but I didn’t try anything else because everything looked so good."
Alessandro Conte
"Came here for a very late dinner after a long tiring day and we were met with utmost hospitality. The taste of the food is incredible, I appreciated the khachapuri from the oven. The salad was delicious! And I can’t recommend enough to leave some space for the pistachio dessert. It was the best!"
Anastasiya K
"Absolutely loved this place! The atmosphere is beautiful and thoughtfully designed — very aesthetic and relaxing. The food is not only delicious but also presented with great attention to detail. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and visually stunning.
Just a small note for future visitors: breakfast is served until 12:00, and lunch starts from 13:00. Between those hours, only drinks are available — something to keep in mind when planning your visit.
Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates good food and a charming, stylish setting!"

Best Tbilisi restaurant for: traditional dishes with a modern twistSituated in of one of Tbilisi’s best hotels, Cafe Stamba is a very Wes Anderson-esque affair, complete with a grandiose chandelier, iridescent tile work and a sage green and baby pink colour palette. While you can order pretty much any style of food here: pasta, ceviche and flavoursome salads, it’s the Georgian offering you’re going to want to indulge in. Boasting an avant-garde take on the country’s classic dishes – many prepared with herbs and vegetables from the hotel’s own micro-farm – Cafe Stamba’s unmissable dishes include three variations of the traditional khachapuri, a very moreish spiced green bean and walnut dip known as pkhali, and the buttery Georgian chicken soup chikhirtma.

Katrine Levin's Guide To Tbilisi
Across a design-centric courtyard from Rooms is its award-winning sister hotel Stamba which shares its sibling’s philosophy but not its style. Converted from a landmark brutalist Soviet-era printing press, this architectural and design marvel wraps concrete in light, space and creature comforts. The triple height lobby is jaw-dropping, exposing massive concrete and metal beams along which reams of paper were once transported from the press; the austerity is softened with light wooden floorboards, soft leather couches, and a sea of books filling the length and height of the soothingly-coloured dark-blue walls.

This place also features on my best coffee roundup so it’s a surefire win if you want a brekkie too. The decor, which is part of the appeal—think huge ornate chandeliers, an open kitchen, and a Wes-Anderson-esque color palette—blends in seamlessly with the rest of the hotel’s aesthetic and if you can afford the pretty hefty price tag, it’s well worth staying in Stamba Hotel, it’s one of my favorites. The breakfast menu is made up of cold dishes like grapefruit and barley, bircher muesli, and matcha yogurt, while the hot offerings include ricotta pancakes, omelets, and French toast.
Best Cafes, Bakeries & Buffets (2025)
Located on the bottom floor of the Stamba boutique hotel building, inside the concrete-and-steel shell of a retired printing house, Stamba Cafe is part of a mini dining precinct that also includes the Pink Bar and Shio Ramen. The menu highlights both seasonal produce and high-quality local ingredients from Adjara Group’s Udabno regenerative farm and SpaceFarms vertical farm – meaning you can find some very unique dishes on the menu. I recommend the Udabno Plate, a mini smorgasbord for one featuring Georgian cheeses, soft-boiled eggs, honey, almond cream cheese, and other morsels.
Tbilisi - Bars & Nightlife
This former Soviet-era publishing house has been transformed into a design-centric hotel with on-point interiors, a glass-bottomed pool and a grand café which serves modern traditional Georgian dishes. It perfectly encapsulates a city on the cusp of change. Beyond its main building, Stamba Hotel presents a series of outside spaces including a verdant courtyard garden that leads to the hotel’s outdoor amphitheatre, the presence of which further cements Stamba’s deep connection with key Georgian arts and cultural institutions.
Why Tbilisi is a city best discovered on foot
Look no further than Café Stamba for leisurely breakfasts with energising shots and perfectly scrambled eggs garnished with leaves and cress from the hotel’s vertical garden, Space Farms. Café Stamba is also the place to be after the sun has set with a new-fangled twist on traditional Georgian dishes that rely heavily on foraged and regional ingredients. The photogenic Stamba Mule, starring lavender, blueberry, ginger and lime deserves a special shout out.

Each of the menus rely on locally sourced produce in collaboration with the Georgia Farm Association, and changes seasonally.

Where the Chefs Eat: Lily Vanilli's favourite restaurants in Tbilisi
It’s hard to make a list for Tbilisi without mentioning Stamba, where I often stay when visiting. The interiors are a dream of 1920s old-world glamour, with a sprawling garden bar nestled into a magnificent Brutalist building (it once housed the printing press for Soviet propaganda in occupied Georgia). It is full of hidden surprises – look for the chocolatery, roastery, or micro herb garden when strolling through the stunning grounds.

The Best Cocktail Bars in Tbilisi Georgia
Stamba Café, as part of Stamba Hotel, has eye-popping interior design, Art Deco glam fusing with repurposed industrial. The hotel is an old newspaper publisher’s house, all glowed up with crystal chandeliers and lofty skylights. It opened at the start of the summer, so when I asked for a cocktail recommendation the bartender’s twist on an Aperol Spritz was the perfect suggestion.

Great cocktails, finding a relatively-classy hangout, and exploring one of the city’s most interesting venues. Like Fabrika, Stamba is a lot of different things—and in many ways, it’s a classier version of its sister venue. The bar located within Stamba, one of Tbilisi’s most sophisticated hotels, is also quite popular, and its popularity is well-deserved. Thus, the distance from the farm to the table is no more than 10 meters.

I love this place – not just for its massive Ace Hotel vibes, and its trendy, industrial, urban, hip, you name it decor – but because the Stamba is a Tbilisi institution. Even if you’re not staying here, you should definitely come for brunch or cocktails. As well as the main restaurant, there’s a more relaxed coffee shop and bar area to relax in.
