📍Ninia's Garden, Tbilisi Georgia The place has a beautiful garden and design. A little bit hard to find the first time (push the blue doors), but definitely worth a try. . The menu is short, with an interesting interpretation of some Georgian dishes. The waiters all know English, and there are plenty of vegetarian options. We took the tomato salad, eggplant Raghu and a pumpkin dessert and enjoyed...

Reviews Summary

Ninia's Garden is highly praised for its exceptional, creatively interpreted Georgian cuisine and its stunning, tranquil garden setting. Diners rave about the thoughtful dishes, friendly service, and elegant yet cozy atmosphere. While generally a positive experience, some guests have noted minor issues with seasoning or acoustics in certain areas.

"A garden restaurant hidden in the old town. A quiet atmosphere. The food is delicious, with a Georgian meal with French style. The plate is very delicate. I will recommend it to other friends. Overall, it is good, but the professional level of the waiters still needs to be further strengthened. When I come alone, I am not allowed to sit in a more scenic position in the garden. So it is recommended to make a reservation."

Zhiyao Zhang

"Truly one of the best kitchens we experienced in Tbilisi. 🌿✨ You can tell the chef here deserves way more recognition — the food was thoughtful, bold, and full of personality.

I had the rabbit and absolutely loved it — tender, flavorful, and beautifully cooked. 🍷 The wine pairings were also spot-on and really elevated the whole meal.

Everyone talks about the garden (and yes, it’s stunning), but the indoor space is just as charming — warm, authentic, and full of detail. Feels like someone’s home, in the best way.

Definitely a place we’ll keep in mind for next time."

Abdullah Şengül

"Extremely nice setting with multiple different spaces to sit. Food was not on expected level though, missing seasoning. I have a feeling they are trying to create something like modernized or fusion Georgian kitchen, which did not work out for me."

Top Georgian Restaurants to Try in Tbilisi

The first in a new crop of sophisticated restaurants taking over historic Plekhanovi district, Ninia’s Garden is situated inside a heritage brick building with an open kitchen, a breezy covered atrium-courtyard draped with vines, and a charming backyard with a cherub fountain and cool wall mural. Co-founded by Meriko Gubeladze (the same chef behind Shavi Lomi and Kaklebi), the restaurant is named after the 20th-century Tbilisi merchant, Ninia Zaridze, who famously opened up her private garden to aid and abet young lovers’ trysts. The menu highlights classic Georgian recipes with a fine-dining edge, and for some dishes, Middle Eastern flavours.

Bazhe is a velvety, coriander-scented walnut sauce that’s a staple of Georgian home cooking. Traditionally served alongside cold boiled chicken, the condiment also plays well with grilled vegetables, meats, and fish. The first day I was drawn into this tiny bakery with no name and no sign was down to the amazing smell wafting into the street. I was walking past before work and tried to pay with Turkish Lira by accident. I got a bun filled with some kind of homemade jam, maybe quince, it was perfect and cost one Georgian Lari (about $0.50/£0.30).
