What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Sabatono is celebrated for its delicious and authentic Georgian cuisine, particularly its khinkali and khachapuri, all enjoyed in a cozy and artistically decorated ambiance. While many praise the flavorful food and reasonable prices, some diners have noted inconsistent service, with occasional instances of staff appearing inattentive or a misunderstanding in billing. Despite these concerns, the restaurant remains a highly recommended spot for experiencing traditional Georgian flavors. [^R1, ^R2, ^R3, ^R6, ^M1, ^M3, ^M4]
"That’s a real gem! The atmosphere is so calming and cozy as if you were home. What I really enjoyed is the playlist, it’s so soft and fits the whole interior of the restaurant (unfortunately in some other places the music doesn’t match with the environment at all).
The food is so delicious :) we had a khachapuri adjaruly (the dough was perfect as well as the filling), chkmeruli chicken is something unbelievable; it will definitely tantalize your taste buds - the crispy chicken and a very tender, hearty garlic sauce make it finger licking.
The tap wine was decent as well.
Additionally, we did appreciate the fact that the waitress offered some water for our tiny puppy, it was so sweet
I’ve just put 4/5 for service because there was a little misunderstanding when we asked to take away the rest of the dish we ordered, the waitress didn’t get what we wanted, but that’s totally fine, next time we will try to express ourselves better!
All in all, it’s a splendid place! We’ll definitely come back"

"This is a restaurant that I will highly recommend to anyone travelling to Tbilisi - definitely a "must do" for all passionate food lovers.
The Hincali was outstanding, and probably in the top 3 of the most delightful and tasty food items I have eaten in my life!!!!
Now, Khachapuri.... A Georgian Pizza of sorts, but in reality, it is sooooo much more than that. Using local Georgian cheeses and cooking techniques that are specifically designed for expert food quality, taste, and texture.
The service was slightly slow, but really, I feel I was extra hungry, so I was especially critical, which I can't say is fair as I really enjoyed the food and experience overall.
Staff members seemed slightly "uninterested" in its customers, but it was not a big issue in my eyes, considering the food I ate was beyond exceptional!!!
You must visit here...

"This hiding restaurant is a marvelously pleasant place, good and quiet georgian music, and excellent food. We were 4 adults and 4 kids, we ordered just about the whole menu, and enjoyed every single dish. A Tbilisi visitor can not afford to miss this restaurant. Good service. Good price. Unforgettable food and wine."

Local Georgian Food Guide 2024
Located near the center of town by Rustaveli metro, Sabotono is another great spot to try some Georgian “classics.” The restaurant is a bit smaller than others, creating a very intimate and cozy atmosphere. Everything is customarily delicious, with our personal favorite dish being the fried trout stuffed with sulguni ( სულგუნი – traditional Georgian cheese) and walnut paste. It’s recommended to call and make a reservation though, as the restaurant is pretty small and very busy.
