Reviews Summary

"Saw the reviews and thought we'd give it a try. Looked nondescript from the street, but wow! Great food, great service. On my next visit to Cologne, I'll visit here again."

"Brauhaus Pütz – A True Cologne Beer Experience! 🍻🇩🇪
If you’re looking for an authentic Kölsch experience in Cologne, Brauhaus Pütz is the place to be! This traditional brewery offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a classic Kölsch beer served the proper way—fresh, cold, and in small glasses that keep coming until you say stop! 🍺✨
The food is hearty and delicious, featuring traditional German and Rhineland specialties like schnitzel and bratwurst, making it a great spot for both locals and tourists. The service is friendly yet no-nonsense, as you’d expect in a real Kölsch brauhaus. If you want to experience Cologne’s beer culture at its finest, Brauhaus Pütz is a must-visit! Prost! 🍻 #BrauhausPütz #KölschCulture #CologneBeer"

"Second time along in this Brauhaus, unfortunately with not so good reviews as two years ago.
The staff were friendly and attentive as always. The overall atmosphere was again incredibly pleasant.
The food was not quite right this time. I think it arrived at most 5 minutes after ordering it. None of the dishes should have been able to be completed that quickly.
My schnitzel was probably the worst part. The meat was not fresh. Definitely not spoiled, but it wasn't quite right either. The sauce tasted bland as well, almost as it was just a concentrate mixed with hot water.
The other dish was a bit better as the meat was clearly slow cooked and seasoned well. The sauce there was also not great as it was so filled with raisns that the whole dish tasted more like a dessert.
I might have to skip the food next time, but could visit again for the beer and vibes."

Five Breweries in Cologne you should visit
In a Cologne brewhouse, the traditional system of service is like this: The “Köbes” (the waiter or waitress) buys a barrel of Kölsch beer from the brewhouse and sells it on to the customers drinking within the Köbes’ “zone” within the pub. In the Pütz Brewery, this system ensures that empty glasses are replenished particularly quickly. Located in Engelbertstrasse, guests entering the place for the first time are amazed by the building’s extensive catacombs, as well as the fabulous food.
