What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Café Grundmann is celebrated for its stunning, time-honored Art Deco interior and the charm of being Leipzig's last Viennese café. While many praise the quality of cakes, coffee, and some dishes like the Wiener Schnitzel, alongside friendly service, a significant number of reviews mention slow or impolite service, and issues with payment methods.
"We stopped in Sunday morning for coffee and cake and have no regrets. Very friendly service, delicious coffee, tea and cakes at an affordable price. Very nice decor both in the coffee garden and inside. Large collection of posters on the staircase."
Adrian Grześkow
"If you would like to have a good Wiener Schnitzel, they cook an ok one. Nevertheless, the service and atmophere are really bad. I arrived in a time when the service was slow, and we sat in a tiny table for 1.5 h even when there were several tables empty. I rried to ask for a couple of times but was told the tables were reserved. No one showed up for them even after 1.5h of service. If you like to be well treated when you eat, do not go there. We could barely cut our food with the table they gave us, even with lots of space in tables that were empty for 1.5h."

"The cakes were nice and the coffee was okay.
The service was very friendly.
What I did not like was that the toilet doesn’t have a changing table, my baby needed to co Angie the diaper and was not possible. I was expecting one because is a big place that family can have a nice meal together."

THE TOURISTIN: Travel Germany - Street Art, abandoned places and coffee in Leipzig
Choose from an amazing choice of breakfast staples like eggs in a glass and marvel at the art deco interior. It seems odd that some guests arrive in their Porsche but the very warm tongue in cheek humour of the wait staff makes up for that. While wandering around, I can’t believe my eyes when I see a piece of the French Street Artist Blek Le Rat from 1991.
