In march we had the change to work with the MEWO Kunsthalle Memmingen. This Museum just opened a exhibition about „Wolfgang Niesner“. As we painted a big mural in munich wich was insprierd by Wolfgang Niesner we were invited to paint the main wall. #contemporaryart #museum #graffitiart #timelapse #art

Reviews Summary

Mural offers a visually stunning and art-inspired dining experience with creative, multi-course meals. Diners often praise the artistic presentation, unique flavor combinations, and the stylish industrial ambiance. However, some guests have noted issues with service pacing, occasional imbalances in seasoning, and found the overall experience to be expensive for the value received.

"Absolutely stunning food & great vine pairing. Interesting vibes being in the same building as a modern art museum - raw but comfortable all the same. Great staff!"

Rikke Puggaard-Rode

"I found the dining experience at this restaurant somewhat underwhelming.

The service was mediocre at best. We ordered a four-course meal but were mistakenly served five courses, though we were only charged for four. Additionally, there was a mix-up with the wine service; the waitstaff initially served the neighboring table’s wine to us, which we realized only when our bottle arrived 15-20 minutes after our order.

These mishaps left me with the impression that the service team lacked the necessary experience.

Despite these issues, the evening was overall pleasant."

"We recently dined at this restaurant and chose the four-course lunch menu, hoping for a delightful experience.

The meal started with a tomato dish that had a nice blend of flavors, though it was simply tomato and cream cheese. The potato and egg dish was interesting but not something I would choose again. Unfortunately, the chicken main course was not to my taste, and when I informed the waitstaff that I didn't like it and would be skipping it, I expected some consideration on the bill.

Dessert was a pleasant note to end on, but my partner’s wine pairing didn’t leave a lasting impression; when asked, he expressed no desire to repurchase any of the wines.

At €200 for two, we left feeling that the overall experience was mediocre, especially after I didn’t enjoy the main course. A small adjustment to the check would have been appreciated, given the circumstances. Overall, we expected more and walked away disappointed."

An Expert’s Guide to Munich’s Best Restaurants

Situated inside of the Museum of Urban and Contemporary Art in the heart of Munich, Mural takes – what else – art as inspiration for its food and plating. A five-course menu here is €89 (£75) and includes items such as sturgeon with shrimp, citrus and carrots; fawn with blackberry, mushroom and Salzburg bacon; and quince with sourdough bread and star anise. “If you want to go there, you should go very quickly,” Rolff recommends.

Munich Food Guide

The newly opened bistro Mural close to the Altstadt is the hottest new project looking to pick up on serving simple and very tasty bites in a cool location. For taste of Bavaria in a modern context I’d recommend heading up to Schwabing and a meal at Trumpf oder Kritisch, one of the few restaurants that serve Bavarian classics in a contemporary and updated context. And although Munich is definitely not a city that boasts a large offering of health-focused eateries, Gratitude in Maxvorstadt features a smart and super casual menu that’s 100% vegan.

Oktoberfest: 3 fine dining spots to take a break in Munich

If you are looking for a change from beer and chicken during Munich's Oktoberfest, here are three restaurants worth trying in Bavaria's state capital. Noone tends to leave Munich's Oktoberfest, the 187th edition of which runs from 17 September to 3 October, hungry. When the last Oktoberfest was held in 2019, 124 oxen, 29 calves and about half a million chickens alone were eaten by the 6.3 million visitors, and even vegans can now enjoy Bavarian delicacies.
