Reviews Summary

Kades Restaurant 'Am Pfingstberg' is celebrated for its stunning views and authentic German cuisine, particularly its gluten-free options. While many praise the delicious food and friendly service, some find the prices high and portion sizes small. A few reviews mention inconsistencies in food quality compared to previous visits, and one diner reported a very poor service experience.

"Beautiful German restaurant set in the Russian quarter of Potsdam. Small but perfectly authentic German menu with plenty of options for most tastes.

The fish, wild boar, Schnitzel, and chicken were all excellent.

Service was great, as were the amazing views from the outside terrace.

It's a bit out of the way for a restaurant in Potsdam, and as a result, it's mainly local Germans that find their way there.

It's definitely a place worth the walk. It's about a 10-minute walk from the Russian church in the Russian quarter, and I would highly recommend making the effort. Alternatively, there is plenty of free parking on offer if that is more your thing!"

Christakis Psyllides

"Very nice place on top of a hill. Very nice people too. I loved the service. The food is authentic German food. Very nice experience overall."

Johny Joy

"Great location, friendly staff and the Wildschwein dish was very tasty. As others have mentioned, this place is very celiac friendly with plenty of gluten free options. If you were looking for a traditional German restaurant, this one's for you. However, the prices are much higher than your regular restaurant and some dishes are relatively small. Booking a table in advance is recommended."

10 best places to eat in Potsdam

This restaurant also remains a favorite among the citizens of Potsdam, it is a regular for families who prefer local food and leave the city center to take advantage of one of the best views of the city from its height on Mount Pfingstberg. Again, our recommendation continues to be to take advantage of the eisbein with all the specialty and wide range of potatoes from the Brandenburg area. If you are visiting the Cecilienhof Palace, Alexandrowka or its surroundings (our must-have recommendations for this area!), you can easily go to this place and then continue enjoying yourself with the recommendation that we will give you below and, thus, have a whole day in this area.

A post shared by Odette Yiu (@1.43am) on Feb 22, 2019 at 7:38am PST. This restaurant offers a very pretty ambience, and you might want to end up having lunch or dinner here after a long day of touring activities, owing to the soothing atmosphere occupied by greenery. The service out here is excellent, you get great beer, and to top it all, they serve a variety of dishes, (most forms of meat), for you to try and enjoy.

Good, fresh, regional, and seasonal food, a very pleasant ambiance, a great location, and super-friendly service. And best of all, everything on the menu, except for one dish, was gluten-free and even suitable for those with celiac disease. They're very knowledgeable and pay attention to contamination.
