Try the Damascene Baba Ganoush, Lamb Shank with Mashed Potato or the Sultan�s Delight, a smokey eggplant puree with beef stew; or the Lamb Tagine with apricots and prunes on couscous.

A for Athens is a fantastic rooftop bar with some equally fabulous views of the iconic landmark that is the Acropolis. It’s fair to say there’s a lot of competition in Athens for the title of the best rooftop bar, but this one is a worthy contender!. Here you’ll come face to face with incredible vistas across the city skyline which will stay with you forever.

Just a few stops from the Acropolis metro station, you will find the restaurant and club district. After about 10pm or 11pm you won’t find anyone older than 19 years old in the area, but before then you can bet on some fantastic meals. A friend brought us to A Taste of Home, here several countries are represented, including my friend’s native land of Syria.

Once we made our way past the crowds queueing, we were shown to our table; the tables are compact & cosy, just like a classic chip shop of yesteryear. With a lovely chequered tile floor, I was relieved to find, however posh it still retained its identity as a traditional chip shop. On the walls, a fine selection of fish prints.

The restaurant is located in Gazi, very close to the metro station, and it is a favorite hangout for Athenians. In a delightfully decorated and bright space, A little Taste of Home serves nice dishes from all over the world. Tastes might not be what you are used to, but they blend together perfectly.

For truly amazing views that can be combined with drinks or dinner, head for A for Athens. This hotel has a rooftop terrace with a restaurant immediately below and both levels offer stunning views over the popular Monastiraki Square, with the city behind and the Acropolis standing high on its crags.

This tourist hot spot has perhaps the best view of Monastiraki, Plaka, and the Acropolis. It usually gets pretty busy, but if you go during the week, you should be able to find a nice spot, order a drink, and take a few lovely photos from here.

Everything here was spot on – the food, the service, the wine… Seby's favorite was the pork tenderloin, mine the orzo prawn dish. It was divine…heavenly!. Another dish we recommend is their Euphoria “exotic salad”… our pleasure!
