Finish off the second of your three days in Corfu with a visit to La Grotta, a seaside bar that’s famous for having a diving board where you can leap into the ocean. For the more adventurous, we also saw people clambering over the nearby cliff face and throwing themselves off that into the sea when we visited. Even if you don’t dare to jump in yourself, there’s still plenty of entertainment to be had watching other people dive – and sometimes bellyflop – into the water while you sit back and sip your pina colada or margarita.

Along “La Grotta” bay of Paleokastritsa –which is one of the most-visited seaside destinations of Corfu– you will find La Grotta Bar, which has been operating since the 60’s. Surrounded by stunning environment, since the bar was built among rock formations, it welcomes guests during the summer months, offering cocktails, the best flavors and a lovely atmosphere. Plus, you will have the chance to enjoy carefully-prepared snacks and a variety of drinks while listening to modern music.

La Grotta, a gorgeous beach bar in Paleokastritsa that is set into the cliffs, is one of the best places to visit in Corfu if you want to soak up the sun, chill out with a cocktail in hand and enjoy some snorkelling. You can rent the sunbeds or sit on the surrounding rocks for free. Be sure to check out their great cocktails and also visit La Grotta at night for a laid-back vibe and a cool view over the water which is lit up at night.

On the eastern side of Paleokastritsa is one of the most enchanting spots on the island: the stunning La Grotta Beach. Besides basking in its epic scenery and views, you can go swimming, snorkeling and cliff diving here or enjoy a delicious meal or drink at its famous bar. In truth, it is more of a rocky bay than a beach as lots of large boulders and a few wooden platforms for sunbathing lie between its two towering cliffs.

Between the beaches there are other spots for swimming or snorkeling like La Grotta and Verderosa, and some of the villas and hotels have direct access to the sea. In the rocks around the beaches there are caves that can be visited by boat (like the Yellow Submarine boat with its glass bottom). Water sports and diving lessons are available and daily boat trips are organized to secluded beaches in the area.

Built onto the cliffs of Paleokastritsa, this scenic place delivers a one-of-a-kind seaside adventure. Reach this enchanting spot by descending a staircase, where you can sip on refreshing drinks while soaking in the stunning views. Popular because it’s so special, it can get extremely busy in peak season , with plenty of swimmers, groups chatting and people leaping off rocks.

Beyond sunbathing and swimming, guests can wander over to the popular La Grotta beach bar, explore the nearby Angelokastro castle, or embark on a boat tour to fully appreciate the beauty of the region. A day spent exploring vibrant Paleokastritsa Beach and its surroundings will undoubtedly leave visitors with lasting memories of this idyllic Greek island paradise.

Our journey concludes at the easternmost beach of La Grotta, a captivating spot that’s near the beach of Liapades, just a couple of miles to the east. Here, you can explore the mysterious caves and grottos that make this area unique. Dive into the crystal-clear waters and embark on a snorkeling adventure to uncover the secrets of the underwater world.

La Grotta Bar is one of the best places to visit in Corfu if you want a lively bar atmosphere in a very cool location. Perched on the side of a cliff, with cascading platforms that lead to the sea, La Grotta Bar is a trendy seaside bar with frequent events and upbeat music. It’s popular with both locals and tourists, especially on weekends.

La Grotta may be one of the more touristy spots, but it is a must-visit for me. Despite not having an actual “beach,” I still consider it one of the best beaches in Corfu. We spent hours hanging out, taking photos, getting drinks from the bar (!!), and jumping off the diving board on our first visit.

There is the very rugged, craggy La Grotta beach, which has a vibrant, beach bar in an elevated position overlooking the scintillating, azure waters. It is well worth the trek down the 142 steps to get to, as it is a truly enchanting!. The beach bar has a great selection of cocktails and drinks.

You can even decide to stay behind in the middle of your tour at any of the stops – even at La Grotta Bar, which is nestled into the coastal cliffs and is open all day and into the night, providing non-stop loud music, great cocktails, and pretty decent food. You can even take a swim.

La Grotta Bar in Paleokastritsa is a great place to grab a drink and relax. This bar is literally built into the Grotta and is accessible via boat or by climbing down (a lot) of stairs from the main road in Paleokastritsa. This bar has cocktails, cliff diving, DJs, and stunning views.

This is one of my favorite places in Paleokastritsa, and I even celebrated my birthday here. Good music and cocktails (especially their Apple Martini), as well as delicious food and friendly people. It was my place of choice whenever I wanted to enjoy the relaxed village atmosphere.

Inspired by a stunning photo on Instagram, we visited La Grotta in Corfu on our day trip from Ikos Dassia in the Mini Cooper. On the way to Paleokastritsa, imagine a secret cove located down 142 winding steps. Set at the base of the cliff with a sparkling turquoise lagoon below.

Just before arriving to Paleokastritsa you don’t see La Grotta, unless you know it’s there. Those who stop by here shall experience something quite wonderful. Sure, it’s commercial, but La Grotta has its own very charming bay surrounded by cliffs.

There is no access fee, but you will have to pay for sun beds and, of course, food or drinks. It’s nice to go there early during high season or during low season. Because it can be very crowded in the middle of the afternoon during high season.

It's situated inside a natural cave that has been carved out of the rocks along the coastline. The cave provides a unique and intimate setting, and the sound of the waves lapping against the rocks creates a truly mesmerizing atmosphere.

La Grotta Bar is a must for those looking to enjoy the nightlife in Paleokastritsa as well. Or if you just want to relax with good music and a delicious cocktail. The bar is located in a spectacular location, in a very steep bay.

Before you reach Paleokastritsa, La Grotta Beach (which means “the cave” in Italian) is hidden in a bay and features a beach bar, a popular hangout. The island’s youth enjoy diving from the wooden platform into the sea.

Perched in a small cove, La Grotta Beach is different from other beaches in Corfu. After all, there is no traditional pebble or sand beach. as the ground mostly consists of non-round rocks.

There are always too many people on it so we recommend you to go there before noon and then switch to a more unpopular beach like Angelocastro or La Grotta bay.

La Grotta, an Instagram-famous beach carved out of the rocks on the eastern side of Paleokastritsa, is also connected by water taxis through Agios Spyridon.

Don’t miss the unique La Grotta Beach Bar, located in a cave, which you can reach by stairs from the main road of the resort or by boat.

La Grotta is probably the trendiest beach bar in Corfu, or at least the one that started the trend of cliffside bars.
