Fridas is an upscale Mexican restaurant in Antigua.Located near the Santa Catalina Archway, you can’t beat the location.The menu consists of your typical Mexican cuisine such as tacos and quesadillas with a twist of course.The tacos were fantastic. The bar in my opinion is the star of the show as it has a wonderful selection of mezcals and tequilas.You can order flights to sample or even a whole bottle if you’re enjoying dinner with friends. We happened to be here on a Wednesday at 6 o’clock and the bar rang a bell and next thing we knew, they were handing our free margaritas.

As you might be thinking, Fridas is a Mexican restaurant in Antigua that pays tribute to one of the greatest painters of all time, Frida Kahlo. It is located at 5th North Avenue #29 Santa Catalina’s Arc and features colorful dishes that will spark creativity within you the minute you set eyes on them. Typical days such as Taco Tuesday are a great time to come visit this place and enjoy the beautiful and unique environment; prices are affordable and there are many different menu options for every taste.

Fridas: Recent arrivals in Antigua might not know that there is a HUGE difference between Guatemalan and Mexican cuisine. The Guatemalan palate is more tender and the spicing of their dishes more subtle, theirs is a tendency towards a finer bouquet… Oh, screw it… Guatemalans hate spicy food, so if you want a bit of fire you need to go Mexican, and the best place in town to do it is Fridas.

Located in the north part of Antigua – Restaurante Fridas in my opinion – one of the best dining spots in town!. Amazing atmosphere and even better food – fajitas and vegetable tortillas were my favorites but this place will please meat lovers!. The place is slightly more expensive but trust me worth it!.
