TATI Farm to Table restaurant

Small local producers are at the heart of newcomer TATI’s approach. The owner has a farm in Buda and the restaurant sources its ingredients from farms in the region – indeed, the menu lists the name of the specific farm that provides the main ingredients for each dish. It’s a worthy concept that’s exceptionally well executed, with top-quality dishes of roasted mangalica pork belly, fried catfish and seasonal soups.

For traditional Hungarian food, we had an excellent dinner at Tati Farm to Table, a short walk from W in Pest. The menu, heavily focused on meat (as is the Hungarian diet), is a fresh twist on regional recipes that have been around for generations, such as rustic cottage cheese noodles (lighter than pasta!), beef cheek goulash, and chicken paprikash (lots of paprika on the menu in this part of the world). Tati is a wonderful place to experiment with local Hungarian wines—the list is deep, and they are skilled at pairing.

Tati is smack dab in the middle of the famous Budapest Jewish District, yet the newly opened farm-to-table restaurant is far more sophisticated than most establishments in its immediate surroundings. Co-founded by Barbara Poisson-Angeli, who is also behind smash success tropical jungle-themed Twentysix over on Király utca, Tati is, as it says in the name, all about farm-to-table dining. This means fresh, hyper-local ingredients, focused on ecosustainability for the planet, and gastronomic health for the customer.

A slightly lesser known, but still impressive Michelin-starred restaurant is Tati Restaurant. This restaurant offers a unique blend of Hungarian and European dishes, prepared with innovative techniques and served with a modern twist. The restaurant is perfect for those who want to try something different while getting a taste of Hungarian food tradition.

Situated in the bustling Party District, TATI is a breath of fresh air for those seeking eco-friendly brunching. This charming restaurant embraces the farm-to-table movement, offering nourishment that’s natural, homely, and tasty. Their menu, revamped every few months to reflect seasonal changes, blends modern gastronomy trends with traditional recipes.

Tati is located in District 7, a part of Budapest that’s currently starting to make waves. And the same can be said of the restaurant itself, where food centres on Hungarian flavours. Much of the produce is sourced from the eatery’s own farm, based on the fringes of the city.

That is why we believe in Hungarian smallholders, local ingredients and enjoy the beauties of the countryside. Our mission is to take along this feeling to the downtown of Budapest. But we also bring our passion for seasonal dishes and sustainability with us.
