What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
TATI Farm to Table offers a farm-to-table Hungarian dining experience with fresh, local ingredients and a cozy ambiance. While many praise the flavorful and comforting dishes, particularly the goulash and pork belly, some reviews mention long wait times and inconsistent service. The restaurant is recommended for those seeking traditional flavors with a modern twist and a pleasant atmosphere, but diners should be prepared for a leisurely pace.
"Homemade food feels special! Their tasting menu is a great way to explore a variety of traditional dishes, all full of rich, honest flavors. The highlights for me were the tender chicken, hearty goulash, and pork cheek—comfort food done right.
The staff made us feel genuinely welcome, and the cozy atmosphere felt more like visiting an old friend than dining out. So we did 3 days in a row..
With a well-deserved mention in the Michelin Guide, TATI proves that simple, traditional food can be truly great!"

"Had a generally good meal here.
Service was professional and helpful with questions about food and drink. But we sure did wait a long time. We had a table at 8pm on a Saturday and it was 9.30 when we finally got our starters. There was a long wait for everything, including ordering a bottle of wine and not getting it and some glasses for 15 minutes.
We were celebrating a 60th birthday which I'd mentioned when booking, but there wasn't any recognition of that at all. That's not that big a deal, but other places we went to put more of an effort in to make it special, so it was a bit disappointing.
Some of the food was really nice, and for some it was the best food they'd had during their stay in Budapest. A few people on our table got the beetroot main, which was certainly more of an acquired taste. The drinks were all excellent.
They have plenty of options for vegetarians.
The atmosphere is also nice - good soundtrack, lighting and it's a cool space.
It was a nice meal overall but I wouldn't rush back."

"Pleasant atmosphere, a simple tasting menu based on specialties of Hungarian cuisine – unpretentious and tasty. Excellent veal in goulash, excellent dessert. Vine pairing went very late at one course ... some other small discrepancies prevented 5 stars .."

The 24 best Budapest restaurants
Small local producers are at the heart of newcomer TATI’s approach. The owner has a farm in Buda and the restaurant sources its ingredients from farms in the region – indeed, the menu lists the name of the specific farm that provides the main ingredients for each dish. It’s a worthy concept that’s exceptionally well executed, with top-quality dishes of roasted mangalica pork belly, fried catfish and seasonal soups.
Just Back From…Budapest
For traditional Hungarian food, we had an excellent dinner at Tati Farm to Table, a short walk from W in Pest. The menu, heavily focused on meat (as is the Hungarian diet), is a fresh twist on regional recipes that have been around for generations, such as rustic cottage cheese noodles (lighter than pasta!), beef cheek goulash, and chicken paprikash (lots of paprika on the menu in this part of the world). Tati is a wonderful place to experiment with local Hungarian wines—the list is deep, and they are skilled at pairing.
