Twentysix is ​​an urban jungle hidden amidst the city buildings. This cute spot in Budapest is divided into 4 main elements: Garden, Shop, Studio and House. Garden is a Mediterranean style restaurant, Shop sells socially responsible delicacies, Studio is where you can find daily yoga classes and House brings kitchen workshops and events.

Each day, we decided to forgo hotel breakfast to walk around. Our first morning we chose to brunch at TwentySix, a restaurant with eastern Mediterranean fare. Like many restaurants in Budapest, from the outside TwentySix doesn’t look like much but a storefront inside another crumbling building.

A beautiful restaurant that is more like sitting in a conservatory than a restaurant. Filled to the brim with plants and flowers, candlelit tables set the perfect background for a romantic evening. While not a vegan restaurant, they do offer multiple vegan starters and sharing mezze platters.

This beautiful bar in District II does excellent cocktails and wonderful food. Set in a huge building—or more the atrium of one— Twentysix feels more like an arboretum with tables surrounded by plants and a triple-height ceiling made of panels of glass.

When you cross the gate of 26th Király street, you enter an exceptional world. It’s like arriving in a jungle. This urban jungle, with its 26° degrees, has a relaxing atmosphere thanks to the gorgeous plants.
