Reviews Summary
Tapas Barinn offers a unique fusion of Spanish and Icelandic cuisine, praised for its authentic ambiance and creative dishes, including adventurous local specialties. While many diners rave about the flavorful food and generous portions, some find the experience to be quite pricey for the quality received, with occasional complaints about service consistency and the loudness of the music.
"Ambiance: This feels like an authentic Spanish restaurant with the decor and music matching the theme. It felt like casual fancy where you can easily take a date but also do a casual dinner.
Service: They came and checked on us frequently. They took our order quickly but unfortunately had a mix up and our food took awhile to come out.
Price: This is a pricey restaurant. We paid about 12000 Krono ($90 USD) per person but we did get a good *
Food: They start you off with fresh bread and 2 dips, an olive mix and a pepper dip. They were both so delicious. The bread was nice and soft and toasted just a little. I’m so glad they give this before the main food comes out. I got the patatas bravas - they were crispy and the aioli and romesco sauce was a great compliment for it. They also came out really hot so I could tell they were freshly made. As my entree, I got the BBQ jackfruit soft taco. It was such a unique flavor and delicious. I really like the mango-jalepeno salsa, the sweet and tangy mix was perfect. My favorite dish was the vegan piri piri ribs. The garlic sauce that went with it was the right sauce. The ribs were soft and juicy and the rub on it was spicy. I really enjoyed this dish.

"Nice place, delicious meals, but one of the more expensive restaurants in town. In the afternoon, it feels more like a pub than a restaurant. I recommend the fish and horse meat, even though I know it's a controversial choice."

"We have family in Iceland and they recommended this restaurant. It was a great place to taste some authentic Icelandic dishes. We ordered the 7 course meal and it was delightful! There is sometimes a coupon for 30% off if your entire table orders this. Coming from an American, the food was very fresh and had lots of flavor!"
