Reviews Summary

Ashok Kumar Kulche Wala is celebrated for its authentic and flavorful Amritsari kulchas, offering a true taste of local cuisine at affordable prices. While many praise the taste and fast service, some diners have experienced issues with rude staff and poor service, suggesting a need for consistency.

"From Golden temple it took us almost 45 minutes to reach Ranjeet avenue in a E rikshaw, but oh my God it was worth. Aloo pyaz kulcha was to die for, with cholle n chutney. Uday ordered lassi as well. Kulchas were crisp, fully stuffed, cholle were tasty. Throughly enjoyed the breakfast.Sach me mazaa aa gaya😊"

"Stopped by for breakfast with family at this no-frills kulcha spot. It's a simple, unpretentious joint, but the food definitely delivered.

I had the aloo kulcha, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with well-balanced spices.

The chole served on the side was flavorful and paired really well with the kulcha.

If you're looking for an authentic and budget-friendly Punjabi breakfast, this place hits the spot."

The most popular form of kulchas, [Amritsari kulchas] are the only dish that’s well travelled across the country,” says chef Goila. His favourites among the plethora of spots that serve this iconic dish are Ashok Kumar Kulche Wala and Kulcha Land. “While the kulcha at Ashok [Kumar Kulche Wala] is slightly more crispy and flaky, the one at Kulcha Land has better stuffing,” he tells us.

I tried a number of different kulchas and Ashok Kumar Kulcha Wala was simply the best. This roadside spot is always very busy - grab a table and within seconds someone will be over to take your order. A few minutes later, you will have your kulcha with a chickpea curry on the side.
