Reviews Summary

Bhojohori Manna is lauded for its authentic and delicious Bengali cuisine, with generous portions and a warm, traditional ambiance. While many praise the food quality and service, a few reviewers noted the restaurant can be cramped, and some experienced inconsistency with dish availability.

"This outlet of Bhojohori Manna is the oldest one in Kolkata near Gariahat Police Station. We have ordered Fish Kabiraji, vetki fish fry as starters then in main course we selected Bhojohori Vej Thali (which includes sukto, fulkopi alu torkari, luchi & cholar dal, chanar dalna, chatni, misti, doi) daab chingri, vetki curry and Mutton Dakbunglow. Each and every dish was mouth watering. The service was also took only 10mins. The behavior and service was really appreciatable. They maintain hygiene very well. I have a perfect lunch time with my family and wish to come again."

KABERI DAS

"An authentic Bengali delicacy destination in the center of Kolkata. Amazing food, with homemade traditional test of each and every dishes we ordered. Price is bit higher side.
Overall experience was good. Restaurant ambience is average."

Dr. Shamshad Alam

"First of all the space inside the restaurant is so narrow that hardly 5/6 people can move. Bhojohari Manna is a reputed name. I have tried their other outlets too. But this one was the worst.
We have ordered Rice, Dal, Shukto and Mutton.
The taste of the food was below average.
The best part is that the gravy of Mutton was tested like chicken gravy. Maybe they put mutton pieces in chicken gravy."

Cultural Dining In Kolkata: Top Restaurants & Eateries

A hearty, traditional Bengali meal usually begins with a selection of fried starters, and follows with the dal, a course consisting of rice to be seasoned with a varied choice of accompaniments, but generally potatoes and vegetables, either fried or stewed. The meal continues with the main course, usually a fish dish, on top of which a meat-based preparation is occasionally added. Then, it’s time for the chutney course, a bittersweet mix of fruits that serves the purpose of cleansing the palate before proceeding to dessert.

Calcutta Food Guide

We never went in Kolkata, but I always really liked the food at Bhojohori Manna in Mumbai, so that’s a solid option as well. Satapadi was decent chain food, not as good as the above mentioned places but a good option if you’re for some reason in one of the suburbs that has this place but little else (and I really liked their litchi chili payesh). Speaking of chains, I had Oh Calcutta once in Mumbai and was unimpressed…
