What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Coorg Cuisine is celebrated for its authentic Kodavu dishes, particularly the Pandi Curry and various pork preparations, alongside a charming, rustic ambiance. While many praise the flavorful food and homely atmosphere, some reviewers note inconsistent taste, limited menu availability, and occasional issues with service.
"We visited Coorg Cuisine for lunch during our trip to Coorg and had a delightful experience. This is an old, well-known restaurant serving authentic Coorgi dishes.
We tried the Mutton Fry (dry) and Pork Fry (dry) with chapatis, along with Lemon Soda with Honey and Masala Chaach. The mutton was exceptionally tasty and tender—definitely the highlight of the meal. The pork had a nice tangy flavor, though we felt the pieces could have been a bit more meaty. The chaach was refreshing and flavorful, while the lemon soda was decent, though not particularly special.
The location is a big plus, you get a scenic view of the mountains from outside the restaurant. There’s also a waiting area with chairs, which is a thoughtful touch given the popularity of the place.
Service was reasonably quick, and the staff were courteous and attentive. Prices are very fair for the quality and quantity offered, making it good value for money.
Overall, a great place to try traditional Coorgi cuisine in a pleasant setting."
Rutuja
"We tried chicken dry (good in taste, must try)with akki roti and chapati. We also ordered mutton curry (average in taste) and tender pudding 🍮"
Akash Verma
"We were team of 10, 4 Non Veg and 6 Veg wards.
Top Notch:
Veg: Tender Coconut Pudding Dessert.
Bamboo Shoot Fry, Ghee Rice and baby Bringjal.
Good: Chicken Pepper Dry.
Disaster: Halwa, Mutton Fry, Pork Fry and pork Curry.
Mutton had 4 pieces of that 3 were not good. 1 Bone, 1 Fat and other was Liver Piece.
Pork was totally waste with smaller pieces that doesn't have full meat piece in 2 dishes Fry and Curry.
Pork Chops was decent.
Overall not that great for the hype and value for money."
