Reviews Summary
Hotel Hanumanthu original since 1930 is celebrated for its authentic, wood-fired Mutton Palav, featuring tender meat and subtly spiced rice. Many praise the generous portions and reasonable prices, highlighting its legacy since 1930. However, some diners find the taste average or too spicy, and a few have been disappointed with dishes like the kabab. The ambiance is described as basic, with parking and navigating narrow streets also noted as challenges.
"This old gem hotel hanumanthu food is very good.thet taste of mutton pulav and chaps is good.mutton is tender and tasty. Surprisingly after eating the food if you wash your hands you don't get greedy feeling. So thay r making this pulav with very less oil.staff is also very good and quick service"

"Nothing extra ordinary. Tried chicken pulav half plate, mutton pulav full plate and kabab 4 pieces for 3 people. It was mild with spices. No much oil. Taste was little spicy. Gravy and raita is given along with pulav. Half chicken pulav priced at 140 had good amount of pieces in it and rice. Mutton pulav 300 for full plate and pieces were soft and well cooked. But the kabab was worst. It had no good flavour just some chicken pieces fried with some dead masala. Highly disappointed with kabab.
Price for the ambience and serving on table with paper and then on the leaf is a bit over priced.
They have huge seating area. So we didn’t have to wait inspite of the weekend rush.
Getting here in the tiny street driving a car is huge challenge. One vehicle even damaged our car a bit. Parking near by is also very challenging as the roads are narrow and crowded because of the mandi market near by."

12 Local Eateries You Must Visit in Mysore StayEatSee
The modest eatery situated in Mandi Mohalla has been serving their iconic Mutton Palav (not biryani) since 1930. The meat is freshly butchered before the preparation and cooked with rice and home-ground spices on a woodfire. We like how the spices don’t overpower the palav and let the tender meat shine.

One of the oldest restaurants in Mysore, Hanumanthu Pulav is famous for its Chicken and Mutton Pulav. The craziest part is that you can even have this pulav for breakfast as they open as early as 7 am. Although it is a rice dish, it is much different from biryani.
