Reviews Summary
Chai Jaai is celebrated for its stunning ambiance, blending Kashmiri culture with Victorian decor, making it a highly Instagrammable spot. Guests rave about the diverse tea selection, especially the unique Noon Chai and aromatic Kahwah. While the food and service are generally praised, some reviews mention slow service and higher prices, though many find the overall experience justifies the cost.
"Had a pleasant experience at Chai Jaai. We tried the Noon Chai , Sheermal and Red Velvet Cake .
The food quality was impressive and the quantity was just right - enough to satisfy the hunger pangs. The Red Velvet cake was delicious while the Noon Chai looked to be an overhyped item on the menu .
The ambience was cozy and inviting , ideal for a casual outing . However the seating space is a bit limited , so it might get crowded during peak season.
Overall it’s a great spot for good food and a relaxing time . A must visit !!"

Foraging in the Forests of Srinagar With Eleven Madison Park's Daniel Humm
We soon find ourselves whisked away to Chai Jaai, a charming teahouse in an old bungalow, taking shelter from the strong mountain sun. Sips of salty noon chai poured from stainless steel samovars satisfy with much-needed electrolytes at the high altitude—its pink hue due to the addition of baking soda, which interacts with the chlorophyll of the boiling green tea leaves. Humm, however, seems most pleased by the gulkand—spoonfuls of sweet rose petal preserve—that flavours the kahwah: Kashmiri green tea served with a salmagundi of whole spices, crushed almonds or walnuts, and strands of saffron.
