Reviews Summary
Bokashi Berawa is praised for its unique blend of a Japanese-inspired tea house, organic grocery store, and cafe, offering fresh and delicious food in a serene, aesthetically pleasing environment. While many highlight the calm ambiance and quality ingredients, some note that the service can be just 'okay' and parking can be challenging. It's considered a must-visit for its charming atmosphere and healthy, flavorful dishes.
"Bokashi Bali is a dreamy blend of delicious food, thoughtful design, and planet-loving vibes. We came here on a drizzly day… Upstairs, the café serves up fresh, flavorful dishes — every bite was so good — and the drinks? Beautifully presented and just as tasty and the coffee smells soo good! The interior is warm, organic, and oh-so-aesthetic, with beautiful bonsai trees, cozy floor seating by the window that’s perfect for street-watching. Staff was helpful. Downstairs, it’s an eco-lover’s paradise: beautiful crafts, ethical pantry goodies, and gifts. Come for the food, stay for the vibes. Perfect place to hangout. The only drawback if you get there by car: parking is a challenge - though there is valet, the road is small and packed. Highly recommended."

"A unique spot near Canggu that feels more like a cozy Japanese local shop than a typical Bali café. The concept is beautiful, built around sustainability, showcasing a mix of Japanese and Indonesian ingredients in a health-conscious, Japanese inspired way.
The food was delicious, from the mains to dessert, coffee, and tea were all good quality.
Service was just okay, but the overall experience made up for it. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area."

Canggu Food Guide: 12 Best Places To Eat At
We enjoyed our time at Bokashi so much that we actually went back after our shoot, twice. The teahouse houses a gourmet grocery store on the first floor, while the second level features a spacious Japan-inspired dining area complete with tatami mats and wooden flooring. Bokashi offers single-origin Indonesian teas with popular options being the Pearl Classic Oolong (IDR35K/~S$3.14)–a type of tea grown on Mount Halimun with natural jasmine notes—and the White Silver Needle (IDR40K/~S$3.59) from Mount Burangrang, which features light floral aromas.
Canggu’s Best New Restaurants September 2024
Bokashi first opened in Canggu’s Berawa as a natural grocer and cafe. With a new larger location and the creative genius of Chef Jethro Vincent, the Pererenan outpost adds a dinner menu and a robata grill that takes classic dishes to new levels – the sweet and sour pork belly skewer is one of the best things we’ve eaten lately. The interiors are rustic and refined; the antique wooden building glows with antique lamps and rugs and offers a terrace at the front and an internal garden.
Best Restaurants in Canggu (UPDATED 2025)
Not your typical cafe or restaurant, Bokashi is an organic health food store and tea house, but it is an excellent place for lunch with the gals after morning shopping or walking on Berawa Beach. After browsing all the organic produce to take back to your villa, go upstairs, sit, and try the Avocado and Edamame Mash or the breakfast bento. Everyone comes here for the open sandwiches, so make sure you try the salmon rillette or roast beef.
