On my visit to Bali, I only got to spend one afternoon in Ubud, but it was made memorable by my exceptional lunch at Indus. After a bumpy, noisy, congested ride up from Seminyak, it was quite a delight to walk into the open-air dining room at one the best restaurants in Ubud. Decorated nicely and offering comfortable seating including couches, the expansive view looks out over the jungle.

The Indus Restaurant not only serves an excellent selection of gastronomic delights but also has the most enchanting views of the Tjampuhan Ridge and the Achung Volcano. The restaurant serves Asian inspired Indonesian food for its global diners. Some of its best dishes include jackfruit rendang, chicken satay with peanut sauce, pumpkin satay, salmon sambal and lemon tart.

Sat atop the Tjampuhan Ridge with a spectacular view of Mount Agung, you really can’t put a foot wrong by heading to Indus Restaurant. We love their Asian-Western fusion approach to cooking and the croissant sandwich with pandan ice cream is next-level food.

Is it the view that makes this one of the best restaurants in Ubud?. No, but the idea is spectacular, with the volcano and Tjampuhan ridge rising before you. But it’s Chef Adam Liston’s menu that is the show’s real star.

From the same owner as Casa Luna mentioned as #2 in this post is Indus Restaurant. The food was fantastic and felt like a fine dining experience. I had the Aubergine satay to start with and I absolutely loved it.
