This plant-based restaurant is known for its incredible comfort food, of yummy main meals, fresh pastries and vegan ice cream. Their pumpkin pizza base and pistachio ice creams are a must-try from me!. Dining here is a whole experience in itself, the location boasts beautiful views over the surrounding rolling green hills, the ambience in the restaurant instantly makes you feel calm and at ease and the staff are on hand to help wherever they can.

Plant Bistro is a plant-based restaurant in Ubud with great views in the day time. Located on top of a small hill, there are a few flights of stairs to climb before you reach the restaurant itself; passiby by their very own ice cream shop on the way. You are seated in a huge outdoor space surrounded by lots of lush greenery and beautiful French inspired decor.

Plant Bistro in Ubud deserves a separate post, rather than just being at the top of my Top Best Vegan-friendly Restaurants in Ubud list. Plant Bistro is a fully vegan restaurant that opened in August last year (2023). They are relatively new to the Ubud vegan scene but they surpass every single vegan restaurant, not just in Ubud but in Bali, in my opinion.

Their vegan brownies are a stand-out dessert, perfectly rich and fudgy, served with a side of coconut-based ice cream. The bistro prides itself on using natural sweeteners like coconut sugar, making it a healthier indulgence.

$$ Italian cuisine with a little global inspiration; open fore breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Right around the corner from Zest is another vegan showstopper. We visited here at the tail end of an all-day eating adventure, which was a total mistake — this menu needs you to come hungry and ready to eat without a care in the world.

It's definitely one of those spots that you look past and think, “Let's just save it for next time.” Well, I don't blame you, because this place is indeed very aesthetically pleasing at every corner!. As of April 2024, Plant Bistro has been open for less than a year but in my opinion, it’s already one of the best vegan restaurants in town. Not only is the restaurant itself beautiful, but they offer well-executed dishes that you can’t find anywhere else in Ubud. Take this salmon and cheese toast for example.

Plant Bistro is one the best plant-based restaurants in Bali; even non-vegan eaters will love to try the foods here. From juicy to smoky slow-cooked plant-based offerings to homemade bread or pastries and tasty gelato, all the food they serve here is a treat to anyone's palate.
