Zest offers high-end vegan food in a boho new-age jungle atmosphere and is one of the most popular restaurants in Ubud. Although there are plenty of amazing vegan and vegetarian options in Ubud, more so than any other city I’ve ever been in, Zest offers a more elevated dining experience than the typical cafe.While Zest has a great atmosphere, I found their food to be absolutely terrible.

One of the best vegan restaurants in Ubud is Zest which serves food that is prepared from locally sourced ingredients and offers amazing vegan options to the customers. They use local ingredients such as turmeric, cassava, moringa, etc. to prepare most of the dishes to give them a unique flavor while being healthy at the same time. But food is not the only thing that drives this place, the ambiance and the view of the restaurant plays a major role in making it a top vegan restaurant to visit in Ubud.

Another Bali restaurant powered by plants, Zest offers up all the laid back vibes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The concept here is that dishes get filled with tasty ‘fruits, shoots and roots’ for a wide array of feeds to fuel your adventures. The menu is extensive and entirely vegan, and while I was enticed by the sushi rolls, I opted for their version of a plant-based nasi campur.

There are a variety of weekly events you may wish to take part in when you visit, including a woman’s circle, sacred earth circle, Sunday sunsets, women’s workshops, food workshops, visiting lecturers, and more. Personally, we’d highly recommend trying to attend the Sunday sunset, as you’ll be greeted with excellent food, local music, and a stunning view of the setting sun.

I was excited to visit Zest, a beautifully decorated vegan restaurant I kept seeing on social media. However, it was very loud due to traffic noise, the ventilation system, and live music. I had planned to work there, but left as soon as I finished eating.
