Reviews Summary

Moslem Restaurant is celebrated for its high-quality, traditional Iranian cuisine, especially its signature Tahchin and delicious kebabs. While the food is consistently praised for its flavor and generous portions, diners often note the restaurant's immense popularity leads to long queues and a crowded, bustling atmosphere. Despite these challenges, the efficient service and vibrant setting make it a memorable culinary landmark in Tehran's Grand Bazaar.

"Moslem Restaurant is one of the most famous and talked-about eateries in Tehran, and many claim it serves the best food in the city. Naturally, we had to check it out for ourselves.

As expected, there was a long queue outside, which already spoke volumes about its popularity. However, the line moved quickly and efficiently. While waiting, staff handed out menus in both Persian and English, giving us time to decide what to order before we even stepped inside.

Once we entered, the process was smooth and organized. You place your order first, and the food arrives promptly. The service was excellent—friendly, fast, and professional. The atmosphere inside was lively, buzzing with both locals and tourists. It’s clear this place is a landmark in its own right.

Now, about the food: it was definitely high quality, generously portioned, and well-prepared. That said, it wasn’t quite to my personal taste. While I appreciated the effort and flavors, it’s not the kind of food I would typically go for. But if you enjoy traditional Iranian cuisine, this place is a must-visit.

All in all, Moslem Restaurant is worth the experience for the service, energy, and cultural immersion. Even if the food isn’t exactly your style, it’s still an iconic part of Tehran’s culinary scene."

"The food was so delicious, but it’s hard to find any place to sit! It doesn’t have any lanes for dining in!"

"If you’re visiting Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, Moslem Restaurant is a must-try culinary landmark. Known for its generous portions and mouthwatering kababs, this spot consistently lives up to its reputation. The barg, koobideh, and shishlik kababs are especially flavorful—tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The appetizers, from tangy torshi to creamy mast-o-khiar, are fresh and delicious, complementing the main dishes beautifully.

Despite the often long lines and constant crowd, the service is impressively fast and well-organized. The staff handles the rush with efficiency and a smile, making sure every guest is served promptly. If you’re looking for authentic Persian food in a vibrant setting, Moslem is hard to beat."

The line stretching around the bazaar to get into Moslem is a good sign yet intimidating. Luckily though, it moves quickly, and soon you’ll be inside taking in the mouthwatering smells of grilled kebabs, stews, and the famous tachin, a kind of rice cake with chicken. Consider sharing your dish as the portions may as well be made for two, and grab the first empty seat you see.

The bazaar has lunch options, such as the famous Moslem Restaurant, Shamshiry (sword) restaurant, and others. After a fat and delicious lunch walk over to 30 Tir Street (10 min walk) and visit a must-see museum, the National Museum of Iran where you can find the history of Iran briefly, the National Jewelry Treasury, and the Glassware and Ceramics Museum are other options to visit nearby, but those who wish to get off the beaten track should explore the old neighborhoods around Naser Khosrow Street (where you’ll find the architecturally curious Saraye Roshan and Marvi Alley) and Lalezar Street (the one-time cultural hub of Tehran).
