Reviews Summary

Kodiak in Rathmines is highly praised for its delicious, unique pizzas and expertly crafted cocktails, set within a stylish and comfortable atmosphere. While many highlight the excellent food and drinks, some reviews mention that service can be understaffed during busy weekend periods, and seating might not always meet expectations if not communicated in advance.

"Beautifully decorated pub with a surprisingly spacious interior. I always thought it looked small from the outside, but it’s huge once you step in. The décor is stunning and creates a great atmosphere. The pizza is very good, and I highly recommend trying their cocktails – they’re excellent.

If you’re a smoker like me, you’ll appreciate the outdoor seating area. It’s well set up with heaters everywhere, making it perfect even in winter. The only downside is that it can get very busy, so I’d strongly suggest making a reservation in advance to avoid waiting for a table."

"Food is great even there aren’t many options, but I’d say one of the best pizzas I had in Dublin, spicy pepperoni was actually great. I think service is a bit understaffed during weekends, we had to insist several times to get our orders taken and also for the bill. Also, we booked one month in advance and we got sit in a dark corner, not very comfortable to eat."

Daniel Torrejon

"My friends and I had a lovely evening here, it’s easy to see why this place gets so much hype when the food truly delivers. The pizzas are individual-sized, one is more than enough to satisfy you.
We ordered the Margherita, Vegan and Four Spice Formaggi. If you’re as obsessed with cheese as I am, I highly recommend this last one because you can actually taste the hint of honey in it, and it works beautifully with the cheese combo!

We had prosecco with our meal, which was delightful😊

The atmosphere? A solid 100/10!! You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors. Bonus points: it’s pet-friendly, so you’ll spot loads of adorable dogs.

Shoutout to Ciarán, he was so kind and attentive the whole time😊 best waiter ever!"

Weirdo Guide to Dublin Pubs: Best Pubs for the Sun

We’ll start strong: it’s hard to top Bonobo, with an always-interesting beer lineup and a large (by Dublin standards) patio with many tables and chairs, and its sister pub on the south side, Kodiak. There’s pizza at both as well, if you’re putting in a full afternoon’s work. Another excellent option for beer, food and general ‘vibes’ is the back deck at The Bald Eagle – again, it’s a large space, and there’s a mix of covered areas and even televisions if it’s a sportsball-day, plus a lot of fun art (mind the Dalek!), good beer and food for all the family.

Peggy Kelly’s in Harold’s Cross gets the late sun and a relaxed crowd at their cheerful beer garden. Across the river, Smithfield and Stoneybatter boast a host of great options: try L.
