Serving authentic Thai and Vietnamese food, Saba on both Clarendon Street and Lower Baggot Street has plenty on offer to spice up a vegetarian’s life, from curries and salads, to noodles and stir fries. If you’re strictly vegetarian just be sure to ask for no fish sauce. Serving the kind of food that tastes too good to be healthy, Saba even partnered up with nutritionist Erika Doolan to create an innovative menu which offers symbols that suggest the calorie count, and highlights coeliac options and paleo dishes, which are all dairy, wheat, soya, and legume free.

Saba Baggot Street is an award winning Thai and Vietnamese Eatery with 2 locations in Dublin on Baggot Street & Clarendon Street. Since Saba opened in 2006 it has won many awards, including “Best Service”, “Best Ethnic Restaurant” and “ Best World Cuisine from The Food and Wine Magazine. Their kitchens boast Fresh Thai and Vietnamese herbs as well as vegetables and fruit from Bangkok All the beef, chicken and seafood is sourced locally in Ireland and their tea, coffee and sugar is organic and fair trade.

Maybe a better suggestion for a post-Paddy’s day pick-me-up, the spice bag gained stardom approximately ten years ago when the Spice Bag Appreciation Society on Facebook became a forum for debating the “best spice bag in Dublin”. Compared with places like Sunflower, Pen Towers, San Sab, and Lin Kee, Saba up the ante with a Thai iteration of the Chinese-Irish fusion dish, and pair it with their signature yellow curry sauce.

Saba is one of the go to places in Dublin for Thai food and I was delighted when I discovered they do cater for little ones too. Their kids menu has quite an extensive choice of Asian inspired kids favourite (rice, stir fry, chicken wings etc) and has the extra bonus of coming with gluten free and vegetarian options. This is a great family friendly restaurant in Dublin if you are after and Asian fix in nice surroundings.

Outdoor dining is available at both city-centre branches of this popular Thai and Vietnamese restaurant, seven days a week, from noon to 9pm. In Clarendon Street there is a smart roadside set up with some protection from the elements, but it’s in Baggot Street where the fun happens. The “secret garden” has colourful graffiti artwork by Subset, and a canopy roof should the weather not co-operate.

The most well-known Thai and Vietnamese restaurant in the city, Saba loads a punch. It's possibly up there as one of the most expensive alternatives on the checklist, yet I do constantly enjoy it when I have it. Saba is an excellent area to meet the girls for a couple of alcoholic drinks and some grub, but it's as satisfying in the form of a takeaway on a Friday evening - so versatile!

With its takeaway restaurants on Baggot Street, South William Street and in Kildare Village, Saba is an award winning Thai and Vietnamese takeaway that Dubs simply adore. In fact, Saba To Go was named best takeaway in Ireland at the 2020 Just Eat National Takeaway Awards, so you know you're in safe hands when ordering from here. On the outside in South Williams Street, Saba is huddled by the sidewalk, noticeable with its pinkish elements, and a wide glass door as your only window inside. But once you step inside, it is like an elongated hallway. Above you is a skylight, filling the room with natural light; and there are rows and rows of bright, pink tables against white and brick walls.

In this hands on class at one of Dublin’s best Thai restaurants, you take a trip to the Asian Market where you’ll learn to pick Thai ingredients, before visiting an Irish food store to see what substitutes can be used if there’s no Asian food shop near you. Saba is a tasty Thai and Vietnamese Restaurant on Clarendon Street, Dublin 2. Saba, which means “Happy meeting place” and that’s what it is. I have been there many times, the last time with work, we had a large group so we waited at the bar for the late arrivals and of course it was an excuse to test out their wonderful award winning cocktails!!.

The space has super high ceilings – it feels almost like a Thai cafeteria meets a greenhouse, making it a gorgeous spot for lunch. But, let’s talk about the drinks.

Bang in the heart of Dublin 2 in the Westbury Mall on Clarendon Street, Saba consistently produces the best range of Thai dishes and combines that quality of produce with a superb atmospheric interior replete with low lighting and red-leather couches.

Well, the Saba on Clarendon Street and lower Baggot street offers a separate extensive vegetarian and vegan menu, and it’s nothing short of a culinary adventure. Plus, the flavors are so vibrant, they’ll make your taste buds do a little happy dance.

With two other venues on Carendon Street and Kildare Village, Saba Secret Garden on Baggot Street is known for its outdoor terrace complete with colourful murals and heaters.

Make sure you try their gluten free curry, Gaeng Karee Fuktong. This dish consists of aromatic yellow butternut squash and sweet potato curry with onions and potatoes.

Siam Thai in Dundrum, and Saba on Clarendon Street (also have delivery restaurants, Saba-To-Go) offer delicious Asian fusion and even some incredible cocktails.
