What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Ivy Dublin is celebrated for its stunning, vibrant ambiance and its lively atmosphere, making it a popular spot for special occasions and social gatherings. Many diners rave about the perfectly cooked steaks and creative desserts, though some find the prices high for the portion sizes. Service can be a mixed bag, with some experiencing impeccable attention while others note long waits or inattentive staff.
"We popped in for a quick dinner and ordered two dishes—a steak and a fish dish. Both were excellent! The steak was perfectly cooked, and the truffle fries were crispy and full of flavor. The fish dish was interesting and well-balanced. The atmosphere was lovely too, stylish and cozy, perfect for a date night. Even though we only tried two dishes, we really enjoyed them. 5 out of 5 from us!"

"Had a lovely dining experience at The Ivy on Dawson Street! The ambience was elegant yet relaxed, with beautiful decor that made the whole place feel special without being too formal.
I ordered the steak, which was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The duck salad was equally impressive—light, vibrant, and well-balanced with just the right amount of richness.
The only drawback was the wait time, which was a bit longer than expected. However, the staff were friendly and attentive throughout, which helped make the delay more bearable.
Overall, a great spot for a treat or special occasion. I’d definitely return—especially for that steak!"

"I absolutely loved the lunch menu at Ivy’s! The Chicken Milanese was a standout – perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and paired with the most delicious, tangy dressing. For dessert, I treated myself to the trifle, which was wonderfully fresh and bursting with flavour. A truly satisfying meal from start to finish!"

The Front Lounge didn’t start life as a gay bar, the community just decided to set up shop there and make it their own, with the likes of The Ivy on Parliment Street and The Front Door on Dame Street turning into up-and-coming hot-spots for hang-outs, but in reality, there should be another venue set-up to specifically cater to the crowd.

They’re not trying to break any barriers here, and the Ivy's smoked salmon doesn’t come on Guinness bread (just regular delicious soda bread). Good places to eat in Dublin?
There was a great atmosphere (at lunch time) and the set menu was tasty and very reasonable. Shepherds pie, duck, that kind of thing. Around 40 Euros a head (without alcohol).
