I’ve written recently about the flight to the suburbs by chefs seeking their own space and Ranelagh was arguably where it all began — John Farrell of Luna has two restaurants here (Butcher Grill and Dillingers), there are cool coffee shops and brunch spots (TriBeCa, Cinnamon), there is the excellent Kinara Kitchen, Pinochio if you want Italian, La Bodega if you want Spanish, La Réserve if you want French, Michie Sushi if you want Japanese, there’s a Diep, an Itsa, a Marios, a Milano, and there is even a good Swiss restaurant called Edelwise that serves chicken cordon-bleu and a choice of fondue (I’m not making this up!).

Classic food with a New York twist, TriBeCa has been around since 2001 serving delicious dishes for brunch, lunch and dinner. Competing as the spot to serve some of the best buffalo wings in Dublin, this laid back restaurant is a guaranteed win. Burgers, sandwiches and pasta are on the menu, but their weekend brunch is just as inviting, with Eggs Rancheros and French toast with lemon curd cream cheese served – sounds delectable.

Nestled in the heart of Dublin, this hidden gem is an absolute must-visit for any hungry soul seeking a scrumptious feast. Upon entering the warm and inviting atmosphere, I was greeted by a friendly staff who made me feel like a cherished friend. Their genuine passion for what they do radiates through every interaction.

TriBeCa is long-standing for a reason: they are consistent, tasty and reasonably priced. Eatery 120, Kinara Kitchen and The Wild Goose are all lovely, but expensive, and really only for special occasions. I’ve eaten everywhere else and have been either disappointed or, at least, underwhelmed.

The Pronto has gone to the great kitchen in the sky and since then the premises has been occupied by Tribeca. Opened in 2001, it took it's theme from New York style eateries that served casual but grown up food all day long, seven days a week.

Named after the hip area of New York, TriBeCa is an American-style diner with a strong reputation for its cocktails and an extensive wine list - and the perfect spot to round off your tasty tour of Ranelagh.
