Reviews Summary

Uno Mas is widely praised for its innovative Spanish-inspired cuisine, intimate atmosphere, and attentive service, with many highlighting the exceptional steak and desserts. However, some diners have noted issues with pacing during busy periods and the price point for certain dishes.

"Everything is tasty but our favorite were the desserts. We went for lunch because we were not sure if we could finish 3 dishes per person as it's required for dinner. But to be honest, the portion is not that huge and if you order the right combination, 3 dishes will probably get you quite full. The staff were friendly and always explained about the food which is nice."

Qwan Sumatepimolchai

"Really tasty! Each dish is very much reminiscent of dishes I've had in Spain. Everything is prepared to a great standard and the presentation is lovely! The staff are very accommodative and friendly, absolutely 10/10 service. The menu is pricey for what it offers, but that's what comes with the restaurant's reputation of high standards! We were also required to order a certain amount of dishes, which did not include small bites, which is worth keeping in mind when considering this restaurant."

James Farrell

"Dine in for weekend lunch.
High hopes after hearing all the great reviews.
Most dishes we got - solid Spanish influence there. Highlight was squid, jamon and steak.
We enjoyed everything but got pretty disappointed at the end to be honest.
We booked the table so we got seated right away. However, it took us more than 20-30mins to order drinks and get them.
Sommelier said she needs to check but still taking other table’s orders and serving. That’s understandable since it was getting busier and busier after we came in.
The problem was that we didn’t even order our food yet until drinks were ready.
Consequently, we were asked to leave as soon as we finished our main dish because the people next booking arrived for that table.
Of course, the staff came to apologise and we understood.
However, we were so ready for desserts and more drinks but got really disappointed after being asked to leave because 1h 30mins service wasn’t managed properly for us to fully enjoy."

The Best Restaurants In Dublin - Dublin

This sexy little date spot is always at a low hum, which makes it perfectly suited for a candlelit night of deep conversations. Take a break from asking your dining partner all about their hopes, dreams, fears, and regrets to pick out a bottle of Spanish wine (any of Uno Mas’ light, citrussy white wines from the Canary Islands will be outstanding), and order a few plates from the ‘para picar’ section, like the paper-thin jamón ibérico or the mound of perfectly charred padrón peppers. The bigger plates change often with the seasons.

The 13 best restaurants in Dublin

To call this place a tapas restaurant would be to sell it short. Sure, Uno Mas features all the classics, like gilda, croquetas and potato tortillas, but also turns out more unusual dishes like fried sweetbreads, punchy yellowtail crudo and asparagus fregola, all served in a cosy space that’s a dream for eavesdroppers. The mains are hearty and designed to be shared, like the milk fed lamb cooked in manzanilla, so try your best not to fill up on bread dunked in their signature peppery olive oil – it’ll be a challenge.

15 Must-Try Restaurants in Dublin, From Wood-Fired Pizza to Lunchtime Tasting Menus

Spain informs the overriding theme of the food at this perennial favorite set in a long narrow building on Aungier Street. The menu at Uno Mas kicks off with small tapas-inspired plates like jamón croquetas, padrón peppers, and squid à la plancha before moving on to more substantial starters with a wider influence like scallop aguachile or beef tartare. Mains follow the same cue—the salt-aged Delmonico steak for two accompanied by bearnaise, beef dripping potatoes, and Bordelaise sauce is a favorite.

As its name suggests, Spain is the primary inspiration at Uno Mas, where the mix of small nibbles and larger plates will transport you back to those sun-soaked trips to southern Europe. Wine is not overlooked either, with bottles from various Spanish regions being the main draw of a passionately curated list.

The Best Dublin Restaurants For Dining Solo

Taking the lead from their sister restaurant, Etto, owners Liz Matthews and Simon Barrett installed a bar as one of the main seating areas in its Spanish-inspired sibling, Uno Mas. Somehow they've also managed to replicate the convivial feel of the Etto dining room, keeping the service casual and friendly while serving top quality food and wine. We’re not the only ones who think so – the Michelin guide bestowed them with a Bib Gourmand award in 2021, which is presented to restaurants with good quality, good value cooking.
