Urbanity, one of the newest arrivals on the scene, is causing quite a fuss. This haunt is all pared-down minimalism with slick wooden tables and exposed, industrial-style ceilings.

Smithfield’s Urbanity is another of the breakfast places in Dublin that has held its place in this guide (which has undergone 4 iterations) for over 3 years. Urbanity source, roast, and brew the highest quality coffee possible and this ethos extends to their menu, which has been created using locally sourced, fresh ingredients that are whipped into delicious dishes!. There’s plenty to like on the breakfast menu here, but the smoothie bowl (blueberry, banana, maple and fig granola and hazelnut butter) and the organic scrambled eggs (with buttered greens and chives served on sourdough with optional bacon) are the stand-outs.

Upon entering this cozy establishment, I was hit with the fresh aroma of coffee beans and warm baked goods; an immediate sign that this place takes pride in their craft. Other than that, it’s a nice little Smithfield location, just a stone’s throw from the Liffey.

If you’re ever getting to the hangry stage of the day, we would advise you to avoid Urbanity’s socials or it might just send you over the edge. Everything they post looks ultra colourful and ultra flavoursome, showcasing their seasonal menu which changes often. They always have interesting brunch specials, and there's a great outdoor area which we're expecting to be packed on summer weekend mornings.

Located just off Dublin's largest public square, this Smithfield site has a hatch open seven days a week with delicious coffee and snacks on offer. Pups get a warm welcome at Urbanity, a bright and breezy café that serves an all-day breakfast and a cracking lunch menu. While they whip you up some breakfast eggs, your pup can nibble on their homemade doggy treats made from squash and other ‘good’ ingredients. They even have their own adorable mascot, a blue Staffy called ‘Fia’.

Roasted in the hipster-hangout of Smithfield, Urbanity beans are used in the modern cafe in the Glass House on Coke Lane. Unfortunately, they haven't figured out how to drive a website yet (come on guys, it's 2021!) so you'll have to order and pick up your beans or grab some at the counter. It's probably worth the effort though.

Due to restrictions, they brought their vibes outdoors with colourful street seating last summer and we expect to see the same this time around.

Although the portions aren’t large, the food is tasty and satisfying.
