"Delicious brunch in the Carmel market area. Typical Israeli dishes full of flavour and very generous. The place has outdoor as well as indoor seating space and the vibe is really cool and welcoming. Staff were super friendly too."

"Found Café Ton Tov in Tel Aviv’s Shuk HaCarmel, and wow! Tucked in a lively alley, you eat on a small table with bold, authentic flavors that hit hard. The vibe is pure local charm, and the food feels like a love letter to Israeli cuisine. Every bite is fresh, tasty, and vibrant on the plate!"

Mr Z

"Cute little café near Carmel market. A little crowded on the outside on Fridays and plus there’s space to seat inside of one wants to (it is more popular however to wear outside obviously).
The food is good, and so is the coffee, but the service is a bit slow and the restrooms were in a terrible state. Maybe it’s better when it’s less crowded."

Yom Tov Cafe sits in one of the best spots in the city, right in the middle of the Yemenite Quarter and just behind the Hacarmel Market. After a day of shopping in the market, it is the perfect place for a light meal, a cup of coffee or a pre-dinner drink. Popular with tourists and local residents, the café has plenty of options, such as meze, vegetables cooked in a tabun (a special clay oven) and small-size pizzas.

Special Israeli Food: The Secrets of Tahini

At Yom Tov, a family-run delicatessen on South Tel Aviv’s Levinsky Street, you will find loaves of dry sesame halva, studded with walnuts, pistachios, or almonds, while you can also find halva on Tel Aviv’s Carmel Market. In Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda market, you will find Halva Kingdom, one of the pillars of the market with more than 100 types of halva, the sesame treat that can be sampled on the premises. Since its opening in 1947, its famous halva recipe comes from Morocco and use Ethiopian Humera sesame seeds.
