Café Puaa is a great spot for afternoon coffee and cake after a tour of the city, as well as for breakfast and lunch, offering wholesome Israeli classics and salads.

Pua - a bit of a clunky website but don’t be put off by it and go. Ask for a table outside (one side of the street is smoking, the other is non but it does not really matter). The salads are good, and don’t be discouraged by the menu item called ‘Meat Sandwich’ – it is excellent; as are the dumplings and the fish kebab.

Old rugs, vintage mismatched furniture and a whole collection of cutlery and plates that were likely picked up around the corner at the Jaffa flea market. Puaa offers an excellent Israeli breakfast and some of the best shakshuka in Tel Aviv. I always recommend visitors to Tel Aviv spend at least half a day in Jaffa.

Puaa, 8 Rabi Yohanan - This unique restaurant/café is in the heart of the flea market. It was established in 1999 and is named after the owner. The place is magical, with décor featuring many authentic antiques and memorabilia including the furniture, pictures on the walls, and tableware.

Located in Jaffa this popular little café became my favourite spot for breakfast. They have a few different options and while all looked good I highly recommend the shakshuka here.

In the Flea Market: ‘Puaa’, ‘Onza’, ‘Italkiya In the Flea Market (or Italikiya BaPishpeshim)’, ‘Pundak Deluxe’ and ‘Café Yaffo’, which has a great breakfast buffet on Fridays.

Everything is delicious and the people watching is the best. Shop in the market after for great clothing stores and vintage furniture.
