What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Cafe Puaa is lauded for its delicious food, unique retro ambiance, and friendly, welcoming atmosphere, making diners feel like part of the family. While many rave about the quality and taste of the dishes, some patrons have noted concerns about the value for money and occasional issues with cleanliness or air conditioning.
"We went on our first night in Tel Aviv after having done some research and following Puaa on Instagram. Wow! Amazing food, great atmosphere, and all the girls working there were so nice! We'll be back to try the breakfast menu for sure!"

"Easily my favorite restaurant. I come here every other week, and it never disappoints. The menu is short — almost suspiciously so — but everything on it is solid. They clearly go for quality over quantity, and it works.
They offer a discount with the Behatzdaa card for reservists, which is a nice touch and genuinely appreciated. The staff are friendly without being fake, and the whole place has this cozy, no-frills, “you’re part of the family” vibe.
It’s not trying to be trendy or over-the-top — just good food, good people, and a space that feels like a second home. Honestly, if they added two more tables, I’d probably be annoyed. Let’s keep this our little secret."

"I have visited this place several times a few years ago and was happy to return again.
It has become a much larger place, taking over a few of the places next door.
The design is still very hipster, 70s vibe, eclectic and lovely. Very popular among the tourists around the glee market.
The food is also still very tasty, but they did raise the rates quite a bit and for some of the dishes I do think the value for money is not great."

7 Best Cafés in Tel Aviv
There’s no place like Jaffa - ancient, magical, evocative - and there’s no place like Puaa, a neighborhood cafe close to the famous flea market that’s a veritable institution. With its authentic vibes, and vintage style (including mismatched crockery and old sofas) it may well remind you of your grandmother’s house - in a good way - and its chilled atmosphere, makes it perfect for a lazy breakfast, lunchtime drinks, or a laid back dinner. Pua’s quite eclectic in its offerings - think spinach and lentil dumplings, clementine and pomegranate juice, fried cauliflower with labneh - and the staff are friendly and welcoming, never making you feel like you’ve overstayed your welcome.

WHERE TO EAT IN TEL AVIV
You find this quirky, authentic restaurant in the heart of the Jaffa Flea Market, which is one of my favorite places in Tel Aviv anyways. Sitting outside in the small alley or inside on one of those cozy couches, you’ll instantly be soaked up by the typical Tel Aviv vibe at Puaa. Besides serving all-day breakfast – a service to which you might already be used to by the more touristy, but well-known Benedict Restaurant at Rothschild Boulevard – you have to try their curried pumpkin dumplings and their famous Moussaka.

While you will likely love nearly everything on the menu, many customers rave about Puaa’s moussaka, a traditional Middle Eastern dish. In port of Jaffa, trendy cafes nestle among old stone buildings
Cafe Puaa has comfy, chic but mismatched furniture, and will sell you the plates you eat off (nearly everything is for sale). Its menu is packed with the vegetable dishes that Israeli cuisine is known for. After settling into a couch in the alley in front of the restaurant, I had a deconstructed sabich, a breakfast sandwich of fried eggplant and hard-boiled egg of Iraqi origin that’s a popular Israeli street food.
