Reviews Summary

NOLA American Bakery is celebrated for its authentic American-style breakfast and charming vintage ambiance, reminiscent of New York institutions. Diners rave about the generous portions and friendly service, especially during busy periods. However, some reviews suggest a decline in bagel quality and inconsistency in certain dishes like hash browns.

"One of my favorite cafes in Tel Aviv. Breakfast is one of the best too find in town and so consistent. One of the best coffees that can be found. Desserts are a hit or miss but the food is excellent!"

Dani Levin

"What a great place in the heart of Tel-Aviv!!
You can sit outside and do some people watching, or inside to escape the heat, or in the back patio if you want to smoke after your meal.
Great and friendly staff, that was quick and not pushy.
The bagels looked so good, so I had to try it and ordered a roast beef bagel. Slices of beef, slaw and a spicy mustard, on a bagel. Great sandwich! Could use some more beef, but the flavor combo, which is not new, was done correctly and it was delicious. Also had a Nola breakfast. Two eggs, salad, hash browns, cream cheese, avocado, and a bagel. The portion was generous and everything was good. Except for the hash brown. It was probably made in a large batch and than they cut and reheat the portion on a griddle. At least that's how it tastes. It was too dense and didn't have those classic pointy potato ends that crisp up when you fry it.
I also got a Nola cocktail, with OJ, whiskey and honey. It was pretty good. Definitely a nice change from the classic mimosa or bloody Mary for breakfast.
All in all, I would definitely come back here for brunch, or lunch, or anytime of the day."

Gadi Yekutiel

"We really liked the atmosphere. The waiters are very friendly, fast and professional. The food is extremely good, and you should definitely have a look at their patisserie before you blindly order something. .. For us this place was a wonderful start into the day."

The Top Cookie And Cupcake Shops In Tel Aviv

With a chic vintage bakery vibe, and classic checkerboard floors reminiscent of Glaser’s, Magnolia, and other famous New York institutions, Nola American Bakery truly lives up to its name. There is plenty of outdoor patio seating, and an adorable shaded garden in the back, but the interior décor is so charming, you won’t want to leave it. The recipes are inspired by owner Talya Rasner’s American roots and her mom’s cookbooks, and she specializes in catering to American expats nostalgic for their favorite childhood treats.

These Tel Aviv bakeries have the best Hamantaschen desserts

The adorable American bakery and café on Dizengoff Street is known for its nostalgic treats, including chewy chocolate chip cookies, homemade peppermint pattiess and their signature Mud Pie. On Purim, however, Nola makes Hamantaschen the star, whipping out American classics like peanut butter and jam, and their take on the s'more (an almond dough filled with Nutella and marshmallows). Plus, they are also loading their pastries with traditional fillings like poppy seed (NIS 6 each).

7 Best Bakeries in Tel Aviv

If you’re hankering for a taste of the United States, then head to NOLA Bakery on trendy Dizengoff Street. This bakery’s been a major hit with both locals and tourists since it opened back in 2012, the brainchild of Tayla Rasner, who drew on her New Orleans’ heritage and dreamed up a menu that soon convinced Israelis that American bakeries could be worth visiting!. Along with the staples (salmon and cream cheese bagels, fluffy American pancakes, sweet cupcakes and chewy Brownies), there are more unusual dishes like the ‘Blackstone Biscuit’ (a buttermilk biscuit served with poached eggs and Hollandaise), healthy granola with yogurt and fruit, enormous healthy salads (try the wheat berry with roasted pumpkin) and their famous Club Sandwich, served wight both turkey and bacon!

Restaurant in Tel Aviv: NOLA American Bakery

Tel Aviv breakfasts have been mentioned over and over again here on TelAvivTips (see reviews of some of our favorite breakfast places here and here, for instance), but we felt the need to share one more tip on a great place for a breakfast in Tel Aviv with you, since we've just discovered the NOLA (short for New Orleans, Louisiana, apparently) American Bakery on Dizengoff street. NOLA is both a coffee shop/restaurant and a bakery, so you can either choose to sit down here for a meal, of just buy some of their amazing baked goods to go. We've actually done both, because after having our first breakfast here, we were so impressed we wanted some more!.

Top 8 Gluten-Free Bakeries to Explore in Tel Aviv-Yafo

Enjoy a cozy vibe with standout bagels and warm, delicious dishes, perfect for a relaxing café experience. I ate an excellent salmon salad that arrived warm and delicious with an avocado on the side and a sauce on the side unlike other places that many times prefer to save on utensils and push everything together at the expense of the food, thus lowering the quality of their service and the level of the food in order to save. In addition, for dessert I was happy to find out that they made an effort and there was a gluten-free option for me!

If you’re having a craving for New Orleans, then go to Nola. Nola isn’t just a bakery, it’s also a very popular breakfast place, which serves delicious portions of America’s best. However, the real winner at this cafe isn’t their hashbrowns or morsels of American goodness, it’s their baked goods which they bake freshly on site.
