"Hip and busy, Shila was recommended to us as a top tip for a great dinner. The seafood was incredible and went well with the great white wines on selection. A little on the pricey side if you indulge in the wines!"

"A big place located inside a hotel. The place was very loud so I couldn't hear everyone at my table and the staff did not know the menu well, especially the drinks and we had to keep correcting them because they did not remember who ordered what.
As for the food - very good. Flavors were precise, firsr courses were very diverse.
However, portions are very small and prices are too high.
Note: no bathroom inside the restaurant, you have to go to a trip into the sub level of the hotel to find it."
Ronen M
"Exceptional meal. Ordered the prix fixe dinner for 2, with one of the best fresh excellently prepared fish, sea bream, I think, and house bread with 2 terrific dips, tomato and cilantro. Good wine menu and knowledgeable and helpful sommelier. Good service. Happening, full space with good vibes. Definitely top tier status."

Established in 2006 by chef Sharon Cohen (who named the restaurant after his beloved dog), Shila soon became a well-established culinary institution in Tel Aviv. Almost from the beginning, Cohen's unique hand and homage to Spanish cuisine was the base of the restaurant in a way that would not embarrass any flourishing culinary institution in Barcelona. Shila – A fun and loud Barcelona-style tapas place with an excellent bar and a tempting menu of fish and seafood, vegetables and herbs. Chef Sharon Cohen puts a local salt water fish tartare with roasted eggplant and tahini with almonds next to Japanese inspired tuna and soba salad with seaweed in tamarind sauce. Try the zucchini salad with bryndza (Eastern European cheese), walnut and smoked creme fraiche, a daily fish with preserved lemon, Moroccan paprika and calamari and seafood lasagna with yuzu butter.
Best Restaurants in Tel Aviv, Israel
Sharon (a guy) Cohen's kitchen and bar is always hopping, and seems to be the unofficial, upscale canteen of the Tel Aviv's Old North district. Yes, it's a little too expensive, and the wait for those with no reservations is a little too long, but Tel Avivis don't keep a restaurant crowded just to be kind. Cohen's edibles rock: keep your order focused on fish and you'll see why from the first bite.ChIJ5z0xQ31LHRUR13DQDY1Q9ZE
