Winding our way past twisty pines and flowering cacti, down a stone-and-brick, step-filled walkway we are happily greeted with Da Luigi’s sun-yellow bathhouses and blue loungers and umbrellas. Ladders lead bathers directly into the natural sea pool just opposite the Farglioni rocks and sea stacks, while a restaurant (part of the club’s all-day admission fee) offers fresh salads and pasta dishes — caprese with fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil, seafood risotto, and signature linguine alla malafemmina, a traditional dish (pasta with baby tomatoes, capers, olives, basil, and hot peppers), created by nonna Assunta in the 1950s. Following a languishing lunch, more ladder plunges into the sea, and rounds of people watching, the reality of returning to the hotel sinks in.

Nestled at the base of the legendary Faraglioni, on the southern side of the island, Da Luigi ai Faraglioni offers a stunning environment where the sea, ranging from emerald green to blue, is the main attraction. Visitors can relax on the beach, lying comfortably on their sunbeds, or enjoy an aperitif or a meal featuring Mediterranean cuisine, all while gazing at the incredible landscape. Yacht travelers can easily reach the club via a convenient boat transport service.

Just next door to Fontellina to the left on the path, this beach club is my personal favorite and has an amazing swimming spot called Da’ Luigi. This feels more like a real, old Italian movie and believes me they won’t know who you are or give a fuck even if you are quasi-famous. (Italians only know Sylvester Stalone, Robert Dinero, and Lady Gaga. Sorry Kardashians.) This place is legit and the stuffed anchovies and peaches soaked white wine make it even better.

I paid then made my way on the 25 minute walk down to the Fragalioni that passed gorgeous homes and hotels on the Via Tagara before heading down the pathway to Da Luigi and the beach at The Fraglioni (with spectacular views along the way). I had a great time at the beach; swimming and enjoying my tasty boxed lunch from Salumeria Capri .. By my this day there I was treated like family.

For a dip in the sea in the shadow of the Faraglioni, there are two beaches on the island shore directly opposite the sea stacks: La Fontelina and da Luigi. To reach these rocky beaches, take the footpath from the Tragara scenic overlook. If you'd rather not climb back up after your day of basking in the sun, there's a ferry service which will take you to Marina Piccola.

One of my favorite beach clubs is Da’ Luigi, just a short walk one fire beach from Fontellina. Da’ Luigi is a real Italian beaches and clubs with wooden decks and an old-world charm.

You can also walk to organized beach clubs, or you can pay a small fee to take the water taxi to Fontelina or Da Luigi. I really like this option. (More on beaches below.) When you want to go into town from here, you have easy access to the bus, but you will want to time it off peak hours to avoid lines.

Ai Faraglioni Convenient and easy the inviting Ai Faraglioni is a great place for slipping into at any time. Located on the popular Via Camarelle chances are you will be passing it and be tempted. A generous amount of outdoor seating and an air conditioned interior all makes for a Capri themed evening.
