It’s a 20-minute walk into the countryside to reach Da Tonino (5) (via Dentecale, Capri town; 00 39 081 837 6718). Welcoming, unpretentious and affordable (for top-end cooking on Capri), it has a short seasonal menu of local fish and seafood dishes as well as rabbit, fresh pasta and risottos. Superb Italian wine list (you can visit the extensive cellar).

Founded in 1993 (so you know the staff have more than enough experience!), Ristorante Da Tonino is located in the Piano delle Noci area, less than 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) from its famous square. That means you can enjoy a pre-dinner aperitivo in the piazza before strolling along to Da Tonino, taking in the sights and sounds of Capri. The restaurant was originally created by old-school chef Antonion Aprea, who opened this meeting point for foodies in the 90s.

Tucked away in a quaint spot, just a few minutes up the hill from the Piazetta lays a wonderful culinary experience with incredible assortment of home made breads, the tastiest olive oil you can have and the best assortment of dishes one can dream. We had a perfect balance of flavor combinations. The selection of amuse bouche was worthy of a Michelin star restaurant, so delicious it will raise the bar of what you want to eat next.

Walking to the Michelin-rated Ristorante da Tonino felt like a mini-pilgrimage. We had received glowing recommendations to come to Tonino and after our 7-course tasting menu, we understood why it’s one of the most highly regarded restaurants. The service and the food and wine pairings at Ristorante da Tonino created such an elevated experience in their modern rustic space.

But the dinners we had there late at night were decadent, and ranked among the best I've ever had in Italy: one at Da Tonino, which has panoramic views and the kind of tiramisu you dream about later, and another at our agriturismo, where we sat out on a secluded, candle-lit terrace and I wondered if they were actually trying to feed us to death.

This restaurant with a panoramic veranda was opened in the early 90’s by Antonio Aprea and is now run by his two sons, Salvatore, chef, and Gennaro, sommelier who tends to the spectacular wine cellar carved out of the rock with thousands of labels. The menu satisfies both traditionalists and those who want something new at the table.

Some restaurants are worth a walk to get to, and this is definitely one of them!. Da Tonino isn’t on the main streets of Capri, a 10–15 minute walk up from the main plaza, but that doesn’t make it any less visited. It’s gained a reputation for its excellent food and service, and there’s also a very impressive wine list here.

After we got engaged, we celebrated with a delicious and fancy dinner at Ristorante da Tonino. Da Tonino is such a cool restaurant because you feel like you’re in a jungle as it’s an outdoor restaurant with plenty of nature in the surroundings. We decided to come here because it’s a Michelin star restaurant!

Or abandon the scene in Capri town with a trek to the inland Da Tonino, with its casual ambiance and airy terrace that provides welcome refuge from the summer heat. If you’re more about the food than the view, D’Amore and Rendez Vous both offer stylish indoor and outdoor fine dining in Capri’s town center.

As noted by Michelin, “You will need a bit of patience not get here, as it’s quite a walk from the center, but it’s well worth it.” I concur. The walk was only 10-15 minutes from our hotel, but it was definitely worth it. They feature one of the largest wine selections that I’ve seen in a long time.

According to their website, Da Tonino was opened in 1993 by ”old school chef” Antonino Aprea. His vision was to create dishes from ’’earth’’ products like rabbits and quail. After 30 years of service and serving delicious meals, the restaurant is now in the hand of his children.

While this restaurant requires a bit of a trek to get to and it appears that there are no taxis that go there, it is definitely worth it. As you walk in, you’ll be greeted as if you’re part of the family. As for the food, they offer refined cuisine with local favorites.

Tucked away in Capri’s hinterland, a trek out to Ristorante da Tonino is well worth the effort. Set in a rustic farmhouse, its laidback setting belies the sophistication of its food. Tasting menus veer from delicate shrimp ceviche to beef tartar with black salsify.

Head to a local favorite that isn’t so packed with tourists. Tonini is one of the Capri historic eats that has been there for more than 30 years now. The chef is astronomical, and the restaurant specializes in fresh food no matter what you order.

Another gem is the Da Tonino, hidden from the hustle-bustle of Capri. This place not just offers an array of delightful pizzas, but it’s the entire dining experience — the warm staff, breathtaking views, and rustic feel that adds to its charm.

Da Tonino – The vast wine cellar (with upwards of 2,000 different bottles!) and a commitment to quality, locally-sourced produce earned this upscale eatery a spot on the 2023 Michelin Guide. Must order: the eggplant parmigiana.

There are simply not enough words to describe this restaurant. Da Tonino is a perfect place that blends both simplicity and class. The atmosphere surrounding the restaurant is very friendly, and so is the staff.
